Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air.
The reason why it feels humid after rain is that when the rain does not cool down the air enough, the extra water vapor in the air makes things feel warmer outside.
However, when the air is cooled by the rain, the extra humidity - or water vapor in the air - goes mostly unnoticed as the difference in the heat from the humidity is less than the difference in the air temperature thus offsetting the perceived heat caused by the humidity.
