1. Great athletes that are not used enough or not used in the right capacity.

2. Vanilla play calling!

3. Not making game time adjustments when a opponent clearly has found a weak spot in our game.

4. No balls to take chances or try trick plays to garner results.

5. I don't feel he demands the players best and makes it clear. If someone keeps sucking, BENCH them and let them think about it.

I'm still dumbfounded as to why this team can't seem to do much of anything right.Whether it be any of the things mentioned here,I still don't get it.This team looks so outta sync like they are the Bad news Bears of football.

1. Physical Toughness i.e. "We ARE going to pound the rock down their throats OR we are going to run for two hours right after the game in front of whatever fans are left."
2. Mental Toughness i.e. " If you punch an opposing teams' player while he is on the ground costing your team mates 15 yds. of field position, you are on the bench for the rest of the game!"
3. If your senior butt can't get it done, we have underclassmen that are dying for a shot and I'll certainly do it and a visit from your grammy ain't gonna change a thing.
4. Special Teams is for the guys that care the most! We are gonna scan this campus for the craziest, toughest, meanest guys, and get some muthas that want to @#$% some people up!

1. A teamwide lack of cohesive discipline - It's CPF's team his word should be the last word. It seems pretty clear that coordinators, position coaches, and players have way to much latitude. There seems to be no sense of urgency, no seriousness in their manner. No leaders have stepped out to be visable, and a team that coaches special teams by committee is an indictment of apathy.
2. Bad offensive coordinator hire - I'd rather we hired a seasoned offensive coordinator, a proven commodity for my money. Let some other team let him learn the trade on their dime.
3. A stagnant inflexable defensive coordinator - He has had his moments but Chief has been so analyized opponents know what he's gonna do before he does. His stubborness in not adjusting to opponents adjustments in games have cost us a ton in national respect.
4. Offensive line coaching unacceptable - seeing 6'6'' 300+ pound men who couldn't push a door to door salesman outta the front door is ridiculous, there is no obvious leader in this group including the position coach.
5. No titled special teams coach - the lack of respect for special teams in this administration has been obvious, and costly. It should be restructured by having the recievers coach/and the offensive linemen coach to take on TE's in the business of route running and blocking. The vacancy created would allow for a titled special teams coach.

In summary I feel this team is coached by a tired, apathetic man who is lazy in his approach to coaching players on technique, discipline, and effort.

You know, I saw something during the GA game that i have seen all to often. During GA's last drive when they were gashing us with the run the clock kept running and running it was obvious that our D was very tired. Why in the hell didn't a coach step foward and call a time out? I mean they had the ball on that drive for what 9mins?
UNREAL!! The obvious things are being missed by our coach's NO ADJUSTMENTS none, nada, nothing. If Fulmer does not step down at the end of the beating that will be the Alabama game he should be fired by Hamilton the next morning. This hurts to see something that you love being torn to shreds and no one on the staff seems to care. All we hear is "we are gonna work like heck to get better" "perfect storm" ect. ect. ect. This just hurts guys and i'm sick of it.

I feel your pain! but...don't kill me...You know they care, look at Fulmer's expressions on the PF show, he can hardly watch. Clawson looks like he's aged 10 years and so does Chavis. I'll say that I don't think Fulmer can do it without coach Cut. The two of them had a thing I guess. Right now we are in the same boat with Michigan. New QB, New system and if we get a new HC we'll be here some more.

1. Fulmer cannot connect to the players the way he did in the 90's.

2. Vanilla play calling (this hurts to watch).

3. Horrific DB and defensive coordinator. You cannot play prevent every time you get ahead.

4. New offensive coordinator. He wasn't as great as people expected him to be coming from a lower division of football.

1. Failure to see problems and address them before a season starts. Problems are only recognized here after 3 or 4 teams have beat us over the head with them.

2. Discipline. This includes stupid penalties, turnovers, missed blocking assignments, poor route running, missed quarterback reads. These things are often blamed on players, but in the end, this is coaching, especially when this has become a staple of the program. Players come and go, but the discipline remains the same.

3. Lack of hunger and fire. This coaching staff is old and tired. They have apparently been satisfied with treading water and it has come back to hurt them. If you are not striving to improve and get better, you are regressing.

4. Failure to adjust with the times. The game changes. Our philosphies and schemes stay the same.

5. The other SEC teams did not put up with failure. Florida and Alabama weren't satisfied with the status quo. They have their eyes set on championships. Mike Hamilton has his eyes set on how much money he can bring in.

I really believe there is no Leadership or Discipline on this team. Reminds me alot of 2005. People can say what they want about Cutt but at least he brought discipline to this organization.

I'm just going to start posting this link everywhere I see "outdated offense" and "predictable playcalling".

YouTube - Eric Crouch Highlights

(Notice the adjustment made at around 3:25 and the defensive adjustment, and then you will understand why I love this offense)

YouTube - Georgia Tech Football - The Duke Game

(And now you'll know why hiring Paul Johnson compelled me to buy a GT hat and declare them my second-favorite, taking over that spot from "whoever plays Ohio State")

Discipline! When we had the great athletes up until about 2000 their talent overshadowed Phil's lack of running a disciplined system. Now that we have less talent the discipline problem is glaringly obvious. There is NO excuse for it and that is the biggest change Saban brought back to Alabama! Everything Saban listed as a reason for their success after the Georgia game is exactly what is lacking at UT. He listed discipline, maturity, belief in the system, a great bunch of assistant coaches that he lets do their job, and leadership where seasoned players pull younger players aside and help them identify mistakes and work with them to prevent them in the game. We have non of it!

my alma mater was a hardcore wishbone / broken bone, triple option outfit while I was there. Led the nation in rushing every year, kept opposing defenses off the field and had decent results for the talent level.

Since then, they went pro set and throwing, with underwhelming talent, to some awful results. In fact, we played Johnson's crew every year and he handed our hats to us in record breaking streak fashion.

We needed him and Navy got him.
