My top of the top ten live experiences would be that time my girlfriend put on the maid outfit.

1. 1985 vs Vandy. A 30-0 victory that sent us the that fateful Sugar Bowl against miami. My first trip to Neyalnd.

2. 1998 vs Florida State. 13-0 season. wonderful night in Tempe

3. 1998 vs Florida. Still the loudest game I have ever witnessed.

4. 1998 vs Arkansas. I left early (I was sitting in the arky section) but didn't make it out. Was able to run back in and see that final drive.

5. 2001 at Kentucky. Down 21-0 and sitting in the UK section. We comeback to win 38-35

6. 1989 vs UGA a 17-14 win. my second game at Neyalnd.

7. 1992 at Memphis. Great catch by Ronald Davis helps us get the win 26-21.

8. 2004 vs Texas A&M. A great win in the Cotton Bowl. total domination on our part.

9. 1999 vs UGA. A 37-20 butt-kicking in the downpour.

10. 2005 SECCG vs Auburn. A loss but the atmosphere was amazing.

I'm trying to remember when he tore it, but I think it may have have even been in the 1st quarter.

The thing I'll remember about that game is how crappy I thought my seats were 3 rows up in the back of the end zone. Then we fumbled on our own 1 yard line and I was about 20 yards away from the action when we stuffed Auburn 4 straight times from the 1 yard line and got the ball back.

98 NC...The night before I was on the strip in Tempe (half lit) at a bar with a band playing on an outside stage. I got on stage and sang long haired country boy with the band in front of 1000+ people...and I can't sing PERIOD.

It was like a home game...all of the locals were turning orange.

The rest was PEERLESS!

Well I know it was in the 2nd quarter because when he reeled off his first TD run, he was in one endzone. When he pulled up lame, he was running the other direction.

Yep...to me the best plays of the game (not to mention Ellis' INT of the pitch that he ran back for like 95 yards...I think he is still catching his breathe)

That's completely wrong. Lewis didn't leave the game until the fourth quarter. His last carry was a 20+ yard run to pick up the first down to seal the game.

I was at the game and for some reason I can't remember when it happened. I think it's probably because we scored all our points in the first 10 minutes of the game and then did nothing after that.

Can't remember them all

85 Auburn was my first real big one
93 UGA was my 1st SEC game as a student and was amazing (couldn't talk for 3 days)
98- All of the home games plus went to Athens and Atl
98 UF game was the loudest I've ever heard Neyland
06 Cal was a great one and close to the volume

I've been to so many but those stand out

Well Hat maybe right...I do remember when he hurt his knee, he got up slowly and went to the sideline for a play or two...then he came back and reeled of about 20 and then motioned for some help. And he was running to the opposite side of the field from where he scored his TD.

I was a bit harsh. He would have been running in the opposite direction when he got hurt. However, it was late in the fourth quarter.

My most memorable time was the look on my father's face when we punted on 3rd down against Alabama.....I was mad at the play call (Johnny Majors) but I got so tickled at my father's reaction and THEN he got mad at me for laughing at him.....so I just can't limit them to 10.....I could write a book on my favorite memories!!

And something I want to admit....you guys call me a "Fulmerite" and blah blah blah....call me a homer and so on but one thing you guys will be happy to know, is that my father hated Phil Fulmer...we always argued about his temperment and for the record, my dad went to UT, supported the Vols financially since the 60's and he wanted Fulmer gone in 1997 - 2004. He would say we were lucky to win a NC with CPF cuz the man has no fire, he called him a "Golf Clapper" and "He has the best talent in the country and always finds a way to lose".......and yes I argued for CFP with him and I continue to do it with you guys......if my dad were alive today he would be on this board calling for Fulmer's head.....he wouldn't care if we won out and made it to the SECCG and won that too.......

Thank you Vols for being so much apart of me and my father's life......for 20 some years of my life, on Saturdays in the fall, I got to spend quality time with my dad in Neyland Stadium and I am lucky to be a Tennessee Vol.......AMEN!!

That is a nice story, man. I hope my son has fond memories of us together in Neyland Stadium some day. Sorry about the loss of your father. :hi:

01' Syracuse: my first game as a student on the hill. First play was a fade to Stallworth that went "to the checkerboard"

04' Florida: Wilhoit game winner!!

02' Arkasas: 6 OTs!! I witnessed a few grown men crying after this win

98' Vandy: Turned Vandy Stadium into little Neyland

06' Memphis: I live in Memphis and all you hear before every season is how they are going to be good and their WRs and yada yada...shut up and read the scoreboard!!

01' SEC Championship: Memorable for the wrong reason. They passed out roses at halftime. Then Matt Mauck happened.

01' LSU: the first time that season. 'The Future' goes off for 256 yds!!

04' Ole Miss: my GF went to school there at the time and I was at UT. Always good to have that trump card for her family in the back pocket when football convo's come up.

01' UGA: I've enver heard that stadium go from being the loudest to the quietest like it did.

01' Notre Dame: I'm Catholic. What better than to beat THE Catholic school on their home field.

That's probably my top 10. I'm not gonna rank them b/c that would be too hard, although I will say that the 04' FLA game would easily be my number 1 after that it's a toss up.

I was also at Peyton's last home game and his last home game as a junior(screaming "One More Year" as loud as possible)

One moment I will never forget is being in Little Rock, Arkansas for a soccer tourney on the day of the 98' Ark game decked out in UT gear and watching all of their fans there go from utter joy at beating the no. 1 team in the land to shocked/speechless as Ratliff recovers the fumble and Cheese pounds the Rock to win. Now that I think about it, it reminds me of how we felt after 01' UGA.

Typo on my first post. My first game was 1991 against Vandy.

1997 Was was a good football year for me. My dad and I went to every game except UCLA and the Orange Bowl.

Was 1992 the year Arkansas kicked a last minute goal to win the game?

I was only 8 years old but I still remember watching 1985 Sugar Bowl in the living room with my dad. He still has that game on tape.

I see this is all football, but I'll shake it up and include a couple of basketball memories too.

(in no order)

1998 - UF and Arky football games (two most thrilling football games I've ever attended, happened to be in the same season)

1992 - UF football - Von Reeves' reverse TD pass blew the roof off Neyland

1989 Auburn - don't quote me on the year, but it was in the rain, and Cobb-Webb ran all over the vaunted Auburn D.

1993 - UK Basketball game. Corey Allen's tip-in and foul off Allan Houston's intentional FT miss with about 2 sec left sent Allen to the line, where he drained a FT to let the Vols win by 1. Incredible game (UK was technically #1 at the time the game was played).

2006 - UT/Texas basketball game. The place exploded when Lofton hit that ridiculous 3 near the end. It was the epitome of the Pearl era of excitement for UT hoops.

1982 - UT-Auburn football game. My first game (I was 7), took a boat with a friend's family, hooked up to the Vol Navy, and friend's Dad told me just before a punt that Willie Gault was going to catch the ball and run it all the way back to the end zone. He did just that - I thought my friend's Dad was a genius.

We lost but it was a mushroom cloud that day in Neyland. Mirer gets flagged for delays 2 times and cant hear the refs 3 yards behind him blowing the whistle.

2006 UT35 Cal 18
Another great day from the fans at Neyland. Trooper comes down the Vol Walk chust bumping EVERYONE... Ainge walks by, looks directly at me and nods with confidence. There was no doubt we won that game before it was played.

1992 Bama 17 Vols 10

Charlie Garner rushes for 90+ yards in the first half and gets hurt. OH WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN!!! Tough loss... good Bama D puts Shuler on his tail more than a couple of times and knocks him out (almost literally) for 2? series. Great game.

Thank you....I miss him!! But let me tell you this.....I say outlandish things on here to get you guys fired up out of fun...I love a good clean argument and when you guys say "you're an idiot" or "you don't know what you are talking about" or "that is the dumbest post so far today"......I sit and laugh my ass off cuz it just reminds me my father is still right here with me!! He would say the same things and just like you guys, if I ever won an argument he would never have the audacity to give in....it was a great relationship.....so sometime I might not have the best argument, I might not make the most valid point but MOST of the time I say crazy things to get you riled like I did my father.......I get the same reaction and I thank you guys for that!! For you guys that take the time to read my posts and for my father Ernie Marshall Hill......I will tell you my honest opinion on our football program now and not say any outlandish, crazy things.....here goes my honest opinion:

2007 started with alot of promise.....we had some things go wrong against us early at CAL but nothing a well schooled football team couldn't overcome.....we weren't ready. We did not have a decent gameplan, or if we ever had one we didn't stick to it!! Yes, coaches fault and in my honest opinion, I think we thought we would roll right over them and we got caught off gaurd!!

Southern Miss....an OK win over an IFFY team

FLORIDA....We went in this game with NO confidence....BECAUSE I don't think our kids had the confidence from the coaches they needed (Post CAL Trama) When we had momentum and 1 score down late in the 3rd quarter, we fumbled the ball on an awkward exchange....to me, if the QB can't hand the ball off with the right hand on the turn, then I question our staff for putting Ainge in there!!
What happened after that was the best thing that could happen.......they embarrassed us....even tho as fans we were mad and embarrassed, I know that was the changing moment in our season that we needed........a wake-up call to coaches, players, and fans.....if we take this embarrassment and play pissed off, play with a chip on our shoulder the whole world will know.....and so far we have!!

You do the most changing when you are at your lowest!!

Arky State.........well, it WAS Arky State

Fulmer on the hotseat......he could have either packed up the tent and layed in this media frenzy, or he could get back to basics of teaching football like he did from 1995 - 2001.....

Now Georgia.....CPF had our kids ready to go, answered the bell, defense, special teams, offense and the MOST powerful thing I saw, was he had the respect and the confidence of his players......very refreshing and not a moment too soon!!
If you have ever been on any kind of team, it is hard to play when you don't believe in your coach......NOW they do!!

Fulmer has one chance and he is walking a fine line......if he continues what he is doing and we keep working harder and growing and gelling as a team......we could very easily win the SEC East.....and for the record......we can play with LSU if we play with the intensity that we did last week!! We can play competitive against any team in the nation!!

Thank you guys for reading about my dad.....you would have enjoyed him on here and do me a favor....If you have the oppurtunity to goto a game with mom, dad, granddad or grandma or take your child to his first UT game......do it, and tell them you love them....the memory of that moment will last a lifetime!! GO VOLS!!

I agree whole-heartedly wit this. Nobody gave us a chance against Auburn in '04... but we played well with them. Time will tell.
