Your Pick For the Tennessee Player That Was the Biggest Bust

most of you all wont remember him

but the biggest bust was NILO SILVAN
Wrong!

wasn't that the guy that punched his girlfriend, drove a Ferrari 200mph, and snorted a bag of coke in one night?

He also returned kicks for us.

That wasn't THAT long ago. I remember him like it was yesterday.
Obviously you don't.

Shazzon Bradley got his degree and is working for TVA or something. Nilo Silvan was the man, he just had a thing for his roomates underage girl friend.
Biggest bust from the current team is easily Adam myers-white
Biggest bust ever was either Dante Hickey, Joey Mathews, or Troy Fleming
Nilo Sylvan was a damn good player. He was falsely accused, charged, and arrested for rape. He was kicked off the team for his senior season. The media crucified him. He was tried and convicted in the media. He was held up as an example of everything that was wrong with collegiate athletics. The national media even got in on the bloodletting.

He was innocent. His situation was exactly like the Duke lacrosse team. His life was ruined over false accusations. It was an absolute travesty.

hatvol96 will verify what I've just said here.

Silvan wasn't even indicted; the grand jury threw everything out for complete lack of evidence if I recall correctly.

This in an area where it's been said that "A DA could return an indictment on a ham sandwich for murder".

Yep! They drug him through the mud for months on end.

The victim recanted after a few of her friends snitched out that she was lying.

Although i agree Heath Shuler was bad in the NFL but good here another that hasn't been discussed who was good here but a big bust (and i mean a big one, bust that is lol)has to be one of my favorite UT QB's Tony Robinson

I've been waiting for someone to say it. Tony was brilliant on the field......but a total disappointment in life. His story is an absolute tragedy!

The first recruiting class I followed was the busted backfield class of Jabari Davis, Cedric Houston, and Derrick Tensley. That group right there was very dissapointing. I'll add...

Gerald Riggs
Daniel Brooks
and every 4/5 star lineman we've signed that never seemed to make it on campus.

you listed 2 guys who rushed for 1000yds in college and 1 who played in the NFL as the biggest busts? (Davis may have made a roster too but not sure)

johnny cash played for ut?

Let's not forget about Dustin Moore. One of the greatest athletes to ever wear the orange and white. Also one of the biggest dope smokers to ever wear the orange and white.

I can guarantee you he wasn't one of the biggest he was just caught more than the others.

Mr. Moore loved him some doobage. No doubt about it. You're right in that he got caught a lot, and that's because he didn't care. He didn't actually think he would get into trouble because he was such a good player. Had Dustin continued playing he very well could have been the best tight end UT has ever seen. Freak of an athlete.

His mama must be so proud..... It takes a lot of dedication and commitment to earn that award while playing for UT! Serious competition!:)

Dustin Moore hands down, one of the biggest busts ever.. To watch him play in high school was unreal... He is followed by Travis Cozart and Jabari Davis..

Dustin at least saw the field. Don't insult him by grouping him with Cozart

can't argue with any of that.
