I put Kiffin ahead of them because I think his 'name' and recruiting ability would be able to bring in elite talent at UT. And, "if" he put together the right staff I think he could be very successful. That is why I have his name above Kelly and Leach. Leach is really only on there by default at #5. I hope we dont have to go that low on our list.

I think recruiting wise Kiffen would probably be the better hire because he has the name. I was looking at it from more of a coaching standpoint. You have to be able to develop the talent you recruit. I disagree with you on leach though. I think he would bring a sense of excitement knowing what our offense could potentially look like. Plus he has SEC experience which is a plus.

please no brian kelly. At least take a chance with a younger, fresher candidate. we've already seen what a small time OC can do in the SEC..

I guess the same was said about Meyer but i dont want Kelly leading the Volunteer Nation.

My true gut feeling is that our new coach is going to be Lane Kiffin. I just don't see how we're going to pull Gruden away from Tampa Bay or Leach from Texas Tech (but to be honest I don't want Leach).

Ever since they said Kiffin was in the running and I looked him up, I can see him doing really well here. Not to mention he's unemployed at the moment and has coached college football before as an Offensive Cooridinator. Also, he has already proven he can recruit well. So, I can see him doing extremely well here at UT.

I'm a little confused why you put Kiffen ahead of Kelly and Leach? Kelly and Leach both have great track records where as Kiffen has none. I'm not saying i'm against Kiffen. I think any one of those guys would be a good hire. I don't see Gruden being a legitimate option. Davis would be first for me followed by Leach or Kelly than Kiffen. I'm just glad you didn't mention Peterson.

Exactly which NFL teams have called Kelly and Leach about coaching vacancies? I would assume that he put Kiffin above the two because he is just a better coach.

In fact, if Mike Leach ever gets a head coaching gig in the NFL, I will personally deliver Satan's right testicle to your front door.
