Quarterbacks: B-
I really think Ainge's finger is bothering him a lot. His throws were often behind the receiver and he can't seem to throw on the run at all. The interception for a TD was a horrible throw.

Wide Receivers: B+
Solid performance, maybe 1 or 2 drops, but a lot of impressive catches.

Runnings Backs: B
A fumble or two, but I liked what I saw from Coker. This was not one of Foster's better games.

Offensive Line: B+
No sacks allowed and we actually got a push up the middle for a touchdown.

Defensive Line: C+
178 rushing yards allowed, but got some good pressure on an elusive QB.

Linebackers: C-
Too many missed tackles.

Secondary: B-
I like Berry at safety, but he needs more experience at it. He's gotten burned both times he's been back there. The interceptions were nice, but they seemed like more of the fault of the QB.

Special Teams (Returning): C
Bad bad bad punt returning. Good kickoff returning.

Special Teams (Coverage): C-
Phil...I'm begging you...please do something about our coverage. So far Cal and Florida have returned ones against us. How many other teams have to before you correct this? Instead of letting other teams start around the 40 or 50, how about keeping them to their 20 or 30?

Coaching: B
I know it's Arkansas State, but we made some good adjustments.

OVERALL: B-
I hope we come out ready against Georgia. We have two weeks to prepare.

Wow, I am surprised. It didn't seem like he was that effective but I guess the numbers don't lie.

I was beside a fellow grad student from NY. She didn't know a lot about football, but she kept asking why Coker wasn't the starter. I found that kind of amusing.

Not trying to be a pain or anything, but our kick returner got special teams player of the week from the SBC. We didn't get many highlights from that game, except for our running game and special teams play.

Special Teams Player of the Week

Brandon Thompkins (Arkansas State, So., WR/KR)
Thompkins broke the Arkansas State school record and Sun Belt Conference record for kickoff return yards in a game with 194 against Tennessee. His 194 yards are also the sixth most in the nation this season for a single game. He averaged 24.3 yards per return on eight chances, including a season-long of 37 yards. His eight returns tied the school record, are the second most in Sun Belt Conference history and ties the second most in the nation this season for a game. Thompkins also added four receptions for a career-high 49 yards in the game.

This also means that he had to return the ball a lot after we SCORED. Not always a good record. We broke our record against Florida.
