I do not have any kids.. But i do have nieces and nephews. Got all wearing orange and most shouting GO VOLS! My sister in laws boy friend is a gators fan..aand every time he attempts to say anything negative about the vols.. Gators suck lol.

My step mother in law is a gators fan as well.. She was in mourning I swear 6 months after the beating Tennessee put on them last season.. Her daughter on the other hand...TENNESSEE ALL THA WAY!

My wife teases me every now and then about alabama..buut.. She has been converted to a VFL.

I think that is how it goes down.

Mink, I'm a dismal failure.

Two daughters. Now 21 years old (twins).

Tried to get them into football all their lives...no go. I can get them to patiently sit in the room while I watch a game if I really ask nice, and they'll ask semi-appropriate questions like, "why do some guys kneel down (3 or 4 point stance, is what they mean) and some stand up before they start moving around?" but they don't really care. Just like their mom, heh.

Worse--far, far worse--they both decided to go to Vandy. Also influenced primarily by their mom. I didn't really mind, to be honest, because they both wanted to be doctors and Vandy has a good academic rep for getting them there, but still. Damn Vandy.

So...couldn't get them into orange, and couldn't even get them into football. I am a complete failure.

But...Go Vols!

Something's take time and it sounds like they are accomplished but one day they will hear rockytop and there hearts will be filled with joy as candy has to forfeit a game due to the new 200 point rule and they think of you

Yes, I can't think of any specific stories, but I did pass the Tennessee Vol fan gene to both my son and daughter. My daughter is a huge Vol fan and probably attends more games than I do, now-a-days. My son comes over to my house and watches about half the games with me. In my son's early teenage years and after his Mom and me divorced, he used to mess with me and say stuff like, Go Gators. I finally had to tell him, " that I know u are trying to be cute and mess with your old man, but that sh!t ain't funny and u ain't too old to have your ass whupped ". Apparently, the message got across and he stopped that crap. One of the great joys in my life is watching UT games with my kids. It takes me back to when they were little and we did the same thing. Last year, while we watching the USCjr game, my son asked me if I remember that So. Carolina game that went to a couple of OTs and I told him don't worry, UTs got this game. I said of course I did but couldn't believe he did, since he was only 8.

As a legacy myself (Uncle went to UT, Dad raised me VFL), I hope to instill the greatness of UT into my future children. I at least managed to get my wife (a Wyoming gal. She doesn't know her team beat my team in 08) onto the wagon for a few games last season. Hopefully I can get her to Neyland and it'll seal the deal!

The Tennessee alphabet:

....Q R S UT VOLS W X Y Z.

The twin 4 yrs olds may have trouble once they start school.

Don't forget the correct response to, Your welcome.

Thank you.

Your welcome.

Go Vols!

Girl twin prefers to say TENNESSEE!

Our first child was born a month ago, and we had him in a Tennessee Vols onesie within 24 hours. Also, we found out we were pregnant on Nov 5, and my wife and I went to the UT Mizzou game on Nov 19. So, he was in Neyland Stadium only a few weeks after conception.

I'm teaching mine how to load a biscuit with draino, and pour a cup of radiator fluid in a bucket and soak some foam cushion pieces in it, and feed it to the "Bulldog" down the street late at night, without getting noticed... Tradition!![/COLOR]

Better hope nothing happens to that bulldog.
