It is not "suffering". Suffering is a military wife seeing the blue suits show up at her door with a folded flag.

People need to get over equating football losses to "suffering, hardship, and pain".

I am sick of those ridiculous comparisons about what is important. Football is NOT as important as we pretend to make it.

Very well said.

I too fall into the trap of putting way too much importance on what happens on 12 Saturdays each year.

All I read about is "Oh, how I wish it was the 90's again".........."Remember how great the 90's teams were" etc.

Stop living in the past and focus on what is going to happen in the FUTURE. You guys have a great core of talented young players who will start to gel, and you have a good recruiting class so far being put together for 2011.

Your coaching staff will have their legs under them after this year and then the sky is the limit for the Vols.

You read some of the posts on here and it's like you guys are 3-9 every year and ignore the talent and the future.

Stay the course!

This is just to rich. I have friends and family members that are Gator fans and I've been talking them off the ledge all week. It almost sounded like you were talking about Florida instead of Tennessee. I guess since you spend so much time here though you have no idea what is going on with your own kind. Once again for the life of me I don't understand why other then for attention you would spend some much time on here if your a Gator fan. Wouldn't it make more sense to go to a Gator board and talk about the Gators? Call me crazy but I just don't get it.

LOL when did a Gator become the voice of reason on a Vol board?

It is sad when your Rivals makes more sense than your fellow Fans. :hi:

I agree, it's not suffering. But it's beyond frustrating. It's actually forced me to stop taking football so seriously and appreciate its tradition more. I live in Colorado and make it to the Georgia game every year, which means I'm at Neyland once every two years. Standing 9 rows off the field watching my Vols run through the T last Saturday made me realize that despite life's nature to perpetually change and challenge you, which intensifies with age, I can always catch a game at Neyland and know exactly what I'm going to get in terms of atmosphere, process and tradition. The outcome may not always turn out in my favor but Neyland and all that it encompasses is something sacred and comforting that I think a lot of Vols fans have lost sight of in light of our recent struggles. Go Big Orange. It's great. To be. A TENNESSEE VOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tennesse will be fine people!! We seem to forget what we are dealing with too easy. Our coaches are very good right now but still even they are young and have some things to learn. Our fepth and talent issues are far beyond what most "fans" can really see because we as fans assume if they have a orange jersey on they should be NFL talent and that just isn't so. We still need time but in the end WHEN we can stop Floriday and Alabama year end and year out no one will care as much about the small issues like we do now! GO VOLS!!!!!!
