We're back in the "once we start winning, the stars will come" mode once again. Hopefully, Butch will make it happen this time. If he can pull Green, Lawson and North, it will be a very successful first year.
It would be a miracle for UT to get into the top 25 recruiting rankings. We have 16 current commits. Only 4 of those are 4-stars, and Jason Carr is wavering. We need probably 9-10 commits. At least 4 of those would need to be in the top 250. We are currently ranked 46th. We can take 27 commits.
In hell...
Hard to say. Last year, CBJ took 4 commitments in Dec. and 4 more in Jan. The year before he took 6 in Dec. and 8 after New Year's Day. Recruiting dynamics are obviously different at a school like Cinnci where you may lose or pick-up prospects who get last minute offers extended/pulled by bigger programs, but it looks like CBJ does not give up until the bell rings. I'm concerned that we did not get at least one big commitment coming out of what has been billed as our key recruiting weekend. I pretty much figured the program is doomed to 5-6 years more of what we've been watching the past few years when we did not hire a superstar head coach. No matter how good your scheme is, you gotta have the horses to win in this conference. Whatever it is that these elite prospects want, we don't seem to have it but I sure wish we'd get some.Agreed.
Any new predictions. Cmon, beat the crowd.

Our top talent is leaving and the depth was already poor, hence the lack of success the past two seasons. CBJ and staff are not, as of now, reeling in the kind of folks who will be immediate difference makers. SOON was the word of the day during Grudenmania. It looks like LATER is the new word for Volball. You give up so easily man. We are in the top 2/3 on several big time prospects. Let's let this play out. Hope for the best. Let the man prove he can or can't coach until you throw the dude to the dogs. I believe We will butch slap some unexpected teams next year. We were on the verge of beating Georgia and South Carolina. We had Florida by the throat going into halftime. We have talent, but we just didn't have the coaching to do anything with that talent. I believe in Butch. Give the guy 2-3 years and I almost promise you will be impressed. Buy into his system and say GBO and continue cheering. He will bring us out of this cursed abyss that Kiffin and Dooley created for us.
