Berry was supposed to be on the guy. Both were at fault. It was a breakdown, but these things happen with so many new players in the secondary.

i think the posts will get more and more positive on here as these young guys become a team, as well as become trustworthy of one anohter and keep their asignments. hefney looks like he is trying to make up or help everyone else to make a play...he is late or out of place. he looks undisciplined because of trying to 'everything'. he needs to let those young guys grow up and trust them to stick to assignments. berry certainly looks more settled, he is having fun out there. berry looks like he has espresso running through his veins out there. can't stay still.

not with this much frequency. You're smarter than that Papa. Again, he's going to be good. But people are acting like he's the greatest thing on earth already.
Think about Berry's situation. He has been the best athlete on the field in every game he has played his entire life. He has most likely always had the ability to recover from his mental mistakes via athleticism. He'll learn. To the learning point, we have horrendous coaching, so he has to learn from experience. Unfortunately, that experience comes at the price of being burned. Hopefully, he employs the newly found knowledge going forward.

i agree with that completely. if you read all my posts in this thread you'll see that. But for everyone fussing about Karl and Hefney and this guy and that guy, yet praising Berry like he is some kind second coming is ridiculous. That was the point of my dislike that sparked this debate. He has a ways to go before I get too awfully excited.

I'm excited because he is a stud, but DBs do not dominate football games. Defensive lines dominate football games. Great linebackers often can't even make up for poor line play. Right now, we have nobody who calls for a double team, so the line blocks us straight up, leaving plenty to get on our linebackers. We need DTs and DEs, not all world DBs

That is exactly what I think is happening to him.

100% correct. I hate it when I know that our Dbacks are good or bad tacklers in run support. The only thing I want to see out of them is busting heads when people come across the middle to catch a pass.

The D Line plus one weak link at backer are killing this team against the run.

I've seen some recent comments on here about the Dline play being good, but linebackers poor. I think the linebackers make mental mistakes and overrun some plays, but I guarantee you that the O coordinator prepping for our squad spends his time scheming for our LBs and takes the Dline for granted. We've seen some poor LB outings thus far, but I do believe they are the focus of the opponent blocking schemes. Heck, Ray Lewis would struggle behind our front 4.

We need a DT that requires double teaming. You hit the nail on the head. I would bet you a twelve pack of beer that I could block Ryan Karl.

I have been on this board for almost three years and he is the only player that I have called out to this degree.

This is the second time I've read where someone is happy to see our HC & DC arguing on the sidelines. What exactly makes you happy to see this?

I have to admit that I called out Dane Bradshaw in a very similar fashion. Amazingly, Dane had huge support from the "he hustles and he's all heart and he's a coach on the floor crowd." Karl is very similar. Undersized and unathletic relative to the needs at OLB.
