I'm 26, but most of my memories that stand out before Fulmer are of losing to Alabama on very dark and ugly Saturdays and not fully understanding the Crimson Demons that trolled the opposing sidelines.

I really could care less as long as we win. Plus I really don't think Phil will be in the discussion for the CFB HOF anytime soon.

This is a point I tried to get across, why I defended Fulmer. I am 23 and he is all have ever really known at UT. So with that being said, I think the new ERA with a younger coach like kiffin will be ok. I want a young energetic coach that will bump chest with players like TROOP, and Muschamp. So lets get the new YOUNG season started off right with a great young recruiting class. GO VOLS

you dont care about players graduatin, stayin out of jail, you dont care that were winning the right way?? are you Nicks son?

Sure. All of those things are important, but results are the number one thing for me. Now, I ain't gonna sit here and act like I don't appreciate anything Fulmer did. He was a good coach back in the 90's. His teams gave me my first memories of UT football. But, I do think he needed to go, becuase he has, in ten years, gone from good to below average in coaching.

I'm an old Vol at 45 and in my opinion we'll be fine. The biggest thing we have always had going for us is 108k and Neyland Stadium as well as national exposure. Adding CLK to the mix should bring in even better recruits and IMO, top talent is the key to winning. UF does this year in and year out. With that said, its not so much the coach. My 10 y/o daughter could coach and win at UF. That program pretty much runs itself. I see UT positioning itself with CLK to become the next UF in terms of top talent and running on cruise control year in and year out. Have you noticed the "ole ball coach" isn't doing so well at SC? There's a reason and its plain and simple, talent.

Pratt i have to disagree a little with that comment. UF does have a very good coach. Look at Miami and FSU. They are in the same hot bed with just as much tradition, if not more than UF , and are in a weaker conference yet they are not the powerhouses they once were. The reason for that is their coaching situation. Coker screwed Miami and Bowden, well he ain't as capable IMO as he used to be. Miami and FSU still get talent but coaching is key. Yes you need talent but it has to be utilized correctly and young men need a leader to follow. Granted a great team will have both; talent and a good coach, but a good coach has won with less and a bad coach/es have lost with more. That's just the way I see it.

I agree however in that Kiffin will do fine at UT and should be able to bring in the guys to compete and make us one of the big dogs in the SEC again.

GO VOLS!!!
