This team did not come busting out the gate and it showed.

Watching the game, it looks like the offense has stagnated a bit and the offensive line got pushed around some.

Missed tackling showed up everywhere. No pass rush until later in the game, against one of the worst FBS teams at that.

Guarantano looks good and efficient but man, this OL is bad.

You heard Pruitt at the end of the game on the field when it came to our run game "he had one long play....yeah...."

Yikes!

Some? Richmond got put on his ass multiple times by UTEP. Oline is weak. Can't fix that this year either. If Helton doesnt get better at play calling it's going to be a very long season

Anything better than 5 wins will be quite an accomplishment. Going to take Pruitt at least 3 years to fix the mess he inherited.

What was so bad about the playcalling?

Yeah I dont think this has anything to do with Helton. We are going to have to lean heavily on our run game to keep it remotely close/respectable against the SEC schedule. Guarantano wont have time to throw. I'm so sick of these sideline passes. We've got 2 maybe 3 good receivers. Get the damn ball out over the defense into space.

I suppose I say that because of the relevance of who we played.
I'll say SHOULD HAVE had more defensive pressure. Defense should have been in the backfield almost every play of this game.

Hopefully in SEC play we adjust our playbook to keep the defensive fronts at bay. Quick throws, QB designed runs, bootlegs, etc...because if we just let JG sit back every passing play we are going to pay dearly..Need to give the OL confidence. Quick tempo helps as well, tiring the pass rush down..

Example, look at Aaron Rodgers and how he was forced to change his gameplan against the Chicago Bears last Monday after banging up his ankle. Whereas he was sitting back and Chicago's front was destroying the OL in the first half, the second half changed. Yes, he is Aaron Rodgers, but the key was that he wouldn't hold the ball for more than 3 seconds. He would get rid of it and just throw it away because he couldn't chance getting tackled and injuring himself worse. I don;t believe he was sacked or even hit once the whole second half. That's how we need to approach the game...as if our QB has an injured ankle and can't get tackled..
