I think CJH is one of those folks we've all seen who when challenged about replacing a co-worker doubles down on keeping them when everyone is calling for their replacement . Maybe it's from not being comfortable letting a friend go, or from not liking being told how to run his staff, but whatever reason he's ignored it for too long

I’ve had plenty of friends ask if I could get them on with my employer. I’ve told each of them that I could easily do that but if they embarrassed me and made me look bad, I’d fire them personally. Needless to say, none of them wanted to work under that condition. I keep work and personal lives separate and won’t allow one to interfere with the other. Heupel should’ve learned that lesson by now.

It's a great idea but what would make Matt Patricia leave a highly paid job where his defense reloads itself year after year after year?

It's not the money we can throw at him, which we probably could, but we cannot match the elite players Ohio State provides him with every season.

If you think he's going to bring a room full of players with him to Knoxville from Ohio State, you're talking about our entire NIL budget just to get them to leave a near certain CFP school for UT.

Making 2.5 what? Why does he have to tell you no? Is 7 and 5 different than 2.5? I’m trying to figure out what all these numbers mean. I guess I’ll play along…. 3 and 9 and 1 and 4.6 and 8.1….this is fun

I mean, Matt Patricia would be an amazing coach at UT but you cannot use coaches to plug personnel holes.

Ohio State GETS Patricia to come there because he's working with extremely talented players year after year. He's not continually stopping the bleeding at Ohio State; he's refining the elite talent they recruit and portal every year.

It's recruiting, not coaching, that stops the bleeding.

He was a scape for Bob Stoops. He never wants to do that to anyone else.

But he needs to do that.

I’m not trying to be rude, but some of you all have a misplaced sense of where Tennessee fits in the college football landscape. Patricia isn’t leaving Ohio State for Tennessee for any reason, but especially if it’s only about money. Ohio State would match or even exceed whatever Tennessee offered.

You may be right and that's where White has to step in and provide some professional leadership and development with that mindset

If you are positive you want Banks replaced, why wouldn't you find a successful DC that doesn't have as much talent as Ohio State? We don't/won't have the same talent level at all positions as Ohio State does. Assuming that someone, that is dealing with the best talent possible, is successful where they are will translate into success in other places doesn't sound full proof to me.
