You want perspective, here's my perspective

Thanks Coach Jumper! Your knowledge & insight are spot ON! The Holly apologists pale in the wake of your logic. :hi:

Ah that explains the rash of injuries that the LVs have had on lay-up drills. You remember when Diamond, Draya, Jordan, Mercedes, and Te';a all missed games because they injured themselves doing lay-ups? yeah, I don't either.

Actually it does explain quite a few,,, anytime i see an injury happen in a game am watching via recording, i take a second look to see if falling wrong (forward) is the cause... Check out Draya's fall on the play if you can look at it. ... Falling wrong is often the culprit. Catching oneself with the hands, wrist getting the full weight of the body falling forward causes many wrist/hand injuries. The first thing they teach in karate is how to fall/land... I teach landing in a boxout so if you fall, you land on the body's largest muscle.,, and the butt-slide almost from the gitgo.

Fair enough. For Graves and I think Carter, however, the finger fractures were the result of arms and hands getting tangled (Graves) and a body to body collision (Carter). And yes landing on one's butt is preferable to a face plant. But when a player is running forward and say gets tripped, the physics are not going to allow a butt landing. You are correct that breaking the fall with ones wrist is likely to lead to fracture; hence, the idea is to spin so that one lands on the side. At game speeds, that is easier said than done.

It's her ceiling. Judging by her recruiting her ceiling is likely going down. She'll never succeed here. Either lower your expectations or hope for a better coach. Those that don't see it are living in a fantasy land.

you don't know that at all, just a wild guess on your part ?

Yes, the refs let it get super physical out there in the preceding game. I try not to cry about refs, but there are times when they noticeably call one way... But that is also part of coaching.

Holly has to work the refs or they will work her. When i started out in AAU I would "battle" the refs. That doesn't work. Nor does "not communicating" with them.. They see that as a weakness or as you not being trained fully. . . It is fully a tactic to work a ref. . . Kinda like any relationship. Pick your battles, pick your wars, pick your defeats. But when reffing lets one side go to the point of everyone in the house thinking the same thing...Let em have it!!!, take the T and get on with it. They will respect you for it.

Yes,HW did little in working the refs and I believe it transferred into us getting beat up on no-calls in SD.

Was awarded $277,500 on or about Jan. 4, 2016 in a settlement with UT. Base salary at UT, $80,000.

Was one of at least four who got settlements. Assumption is UT settled because they would lose more if it went farther.

This is the very reason UT should not settle on the 'rape culture' accusation. The whole nation will ascribe guilt to UT as regards to having and and maintaining a rape culture on campus. IMO the only option is to fight the rape culture accustions. Prove and we pay, as we should. Not prove it and UT can loudly proclaim innocence of any such charges.

Sort of off topic, but you better believe at least some schools have been and are using that charge against the Lady Vols in recruiting. So it does affect all Vols, men and women.

It does affect recruiting, but not from a LV aspect as much as a bad mark on the program responsible and the univeraity's admin.... If I am a parent of a high level BB player... I want my girl at a top level program. And understand that not every aspect of my decision can be decided upon by extenuating circumstances.

The LV program has little if anything to do with the rape case student/athletes.... lets keep it that way

When I see a steaming pile of brown mush in a cow pasture it's pretty obvious to me what it is. I've played basketball up until my body couldn't take it anymore and I know a well coached team when I see one. I see virtually no scheme, no player development, and very little fire. I like holly and appreciate what she's done for the university but she's not head coaching material. Either the standards for the Lady Vols will have to be severely lowered or we'll have to get a new coach.

As to the recruitment of Crystal Dangerfield, I am absolutely certain that if CPS was still in charge she would have had someone in Crystals ear every day and would have gone to the mat to keep her in-state or at the very least a visit. That shows you the difference between CPS and CHW's grit. I think CHW thought she had adequate coverage at point guard or was afraid to make one of her current point guards mad enough to leave. I doubt CPS would have given that another thought. CHW is not an aggressive enough of a recruiter.
Now it will be interesting to see how nice Devonna Dangerfields condo is in Conn. and what kind of business venture she embarks on (purses maybe)

Has your daughter been recruited by any of our staff???.....just wondering.

A little insight into CD's recruitment. TN knew there was no way both Cooper and CD would go to the same school.(USA team battles) Cooper was ready to come when DD transferred...(very tight bond!) but CD was not ready to commit. TN set a drop dead date knowing Cooper was ready. At that date CD was still not ready to make her decision....so that is how Cooper ended up at TN. TN did not want to loose out on both.
