You think were obnoxious now?

I'm sorry. The state of South Carolina sucks. I can't wait to get out of this state, only 15 more months!

I'm not a big fan of Aiken, but my lady is really close to her family so she is not ready to move away from them yet. I love my family dearly but I'm one of those people that doesn't mind living a few hours away from them. So, I'm sacrificing and moving down there for her. If I made her move up here to Knoxville, I think she would be miserable that far away from her family. I wouldn't mind living closer to the coast though.

Hat eto tell you, but you are fighting a losing battle--losing I say. My ex-wife, a TN girl, took a magazine to the first UT game we went to. I said why are you bringing "THAT" to the ball game? It didn't compute; never registered. She just thought she'd peruse the magazine during the game. Are YOU crazy? I'm like, at least I don't have to worry about her interrupting me.

Ha. Mine knows id take it and throw it in the trash lol. Like I said, she loves UT football, just doesnt understand the game of football real well. God love her heart.

My fiancee is a South Carolina fan and I have had to put up with the garbage she spews about her beloved Gamecocks for the past few years. I keeping telling her when the Vols start beating that ass again, I will unleash the wrath on her. I get married in Hilton Head in September and will be moving to South Carolina shortly. So I will have to put up with all the obnoxious SC fans on a permanent basis.

Oh hail.

True. When Bama was down you never saw a cap with an A on it travelling thru there.

there's a lot of that eveywhere. You never saw a hat with an A on it during their bad years except for a friend of mine. No matter what he has always had
at least 2 flags on his vehicle and every shirt he owns is an Alabama shirt, even dress shirts.

IF and WHEN we win again, I have a lot of obnoxiousness to repay here in Bammer/Awbarn country.

Bama fans call Tennessee fans the most obnoxious, but if you ask fans of any other school who has the most obnoxious fans a large majority would say Bama fans are.

Bama fans are rotten to the core, but you've apparently never experienced a mass of Ohio State fans. Hands down the worst I've encountered.

that is a pretty nice area...my wife's grandparents and her aunt and uncle live there....about 1hr45min from where I live in Florence but still far enough away that they do not just drop by :)

I survived a tornado in Aiken around 2001 or 2002. Was participating in a re-enactment. No shelter as it passed 500 or so yards from us. Fun times.

If they are worse than Bama fans I'm glad I've never run into any of them. There can't be that much of a difference, but then again I am biased. I truly do dislike Bama. They are the only SEC team I will never pull for against anyone even if they were playing Southern Cal or Michigan. I am around Bama fans quite a bit living and working in a TN county right on the AL border.

I despise Bama with every fiber of my being. I've been around a long time and seen many different fans. My 2nd cousin was married to the aunt of former 2nd team All-American defensive tackle Shannon Brown who played for Gene Stallings' national championship team. That's an interesting household because his brother was an offensive lineman for Auburn. Talk about family feuds....

I am no stranger to Bama. However, my experience with OSU fans at the '96 Citrus bowl was appalling. Even their elderly fans were horses' asses. A 70+ year old man tried to start a fight with me. That's one time that I was glad I walked away....after a few 'words' with him. OSU fans are no better than the sweat from an Alabama fans'.....you know.

Now on a somber and serious note: I mentioned Shannon Brown earlier in the post. Tragically, his daughter was killed in the tornadoes that hit Alabama in 2011. We can talk all the trash about football we want, but this is bigger than football. This is human. My heart broke when my cousin notified me of this news. His daughter and mother-in-law were only 2 miles from the tornado. Peace be upon all those that suffered losses in that tragedy.

Just keep reminding them that the reason the "ole ball coach" is such a good coach is that he was born and raised in Tennessee. Johnsoncity, TN as a matter of fact

My wife is from South Carolina. She is also a Vandy Grad. She doesn't care the least bit about football either.

Not sure what I was thinking when I married her.

Starting to feel a little depressed now. :cray:

Well, you know how it is, man. Some cute gal smiles, flashes a bit of skin, flaunts her rear and it's game over. That's why they refer to men as being good or bad catches, they're fishing and some of us swallow it hook, line, and sinker.

Friend of mine once said, "Actually, it's a case of men "shooting" first and realizing too late they have questions to ask."

My advice. Love her, be good to her, spoil her, let her know daily that in your eyes there's never been a woman born who is as good as she, but come game day make it clear that's your time for being spoiled by watching in peace.

I just don’t get it….why would anyone think being obnoxious is acceptable or desirable.....

I’m not a social scientist or a shrink but I can think of several potential contributing factors and none as very pretty….

Why not try a little ‘quiet confidence’….

Oh..........I just tell her to STFU and leave me alone. Probably should try a different approach this year. :)

All kidding aside. This is my second wife and I do love her dearly. My first wife died of cancer in 2007 at 42. We had been married for 23 yrs. I really did not think I would love again, but she proved me wrong and i'm glad for that.

She is 18 years younger than me......which is another definiate plus. :) I now have three kids. 25, 22 and
1 1/2. I actually have two grandkids older than my youngest kid. Life is good.

I tried quiet "confidence once". Didn't like it. Obnoxious is a whole lot more fun. :dance2:

Good deal, man. My wife is a Vandy girl and loves both college and pro football... maybe more than I do if you count pro ball. It's nice to have a wife who gets it.
Cool. My wife was a Ga bulldogs fan when we were dating and I persuaded her and her children to be Tn Vols fans.:clapping:

Yep. Gave up trying to figure it out. Just along for the ride now. Much more enjoyable than worrying about all the twists and turns that are going to happen.
