It's just not in me to root bama, ever. I hate UGA less, but only just. I can't root for Clemson as we recruit against them directly. Therefore go sooners.

OSU got snubbed because the rest of their conference sucks. PAC 12 didn't get a sniff because by and large their conference sucks. A 2 loss AU team was rated in the top 4 prior to Sat. SEC made up half the top 6 and now half the playoffs. If you wish nothing but losses on the rest of your conference it makes it more difficult to get and maintain rankings. I'm proud that UT is in a conference that is in the hunt every year. I just wish it was us.

I love football, do if it's a good game, I'll watch no matter whose playing. And I'll always root for the SEC when titles are on the line.

I used to think that way. Not any more.

If the Taliban had a football team and they played Alabama, UF, UGA, SC, UK, Vandy, etc. I’d root for the Taliban.

Especially after watching all of these idiots laugh at our hard times. They can ALL get bent.

I root only for Tennessee (grew up a fan and attended for one year before being accepted to West Point) and Army (where I graduated). No one else.

Why would you want schools that UT competes with for recruits have more success to recruit with. I want Georgia and Bama to lose, and lose badly. Same for Clemson. I guess I’ll be rooting for Oklahoma

The only thing that will help Tennessee is for Tennessee to win. We do that, and it doesn’t matter what the other teams in the conference do.

IMO the optics of a strong conference is good for every team.

GA is likely not winning against Oklahoma and Clemson/Bama should be a great game also but if Clemson plays like they played Miami that game won’t be close. I’m predicting Clemson/Oklahoma in the NC game. Clemson wins 2 titles in 3 years....

I don't pull for rivals of my school!!! The only thing I do hope is "IF" UGA wins they do it in a blowout fashion so the Vols blowout loss doesn't look as bad.

Two schools of thought here.

We play Georgia and Bama, the better they are perceived and ranked, the better we fair in perception and rank when we beat them (or lose to them)

Second school of thought:
If they are good and win championships, they get the good recruits that could potentially be ours.

Clemson steals our recruits more than Bama.
GA steals some too.

Oklahoma doesn't.

But I usually pull for the SEC cause we are part of the SEC. That and it gives bragging rights that your team actually plays a difficult schedule, when around fans of other conferences.
