SEC teams exposed Wilcox. I have never seen so many times Safeties were caught in no man's land than when watching a Justin Wilcox defense. They weren't supporting then run and Wr's were behind them all the time in the passing game. plus, there was no blitzing or hardly any at all. It was frustrating to watch!

Well first off people freak out bc we suck and have sucked for the last ten years and if its not one thing its another. Every vol fan has every reason to be mad about this program. And wilcox and sirmon are both very good don't kid yourself this hurts.

It would just be nice if people would chill, but I know that's not possible. It's like if something happens, and the first thing people want is to fire someone.

Fact is that UT and DD can't really get a break right now. Wilcox was going to be gone after next year anyway. If we get someone like Shannon, it will end up being for the better in the long run anyway.
When things happen, you can't just start flipping out.

I'm with you as far as Wilcox, I was never overly impressed. I hated how he liked to have DE cover a slot WR or TE in man coverage, just not a good idea at all. But to be fair that one was not on Wilcox, we only gave up ten points. You should win every time you hold Kentucky to ten points.

Still, what did Wilcox do that was so great?

Did he have a top ten defense?

Did he lead the league in sacks, interceptions, take aways?

Ya know I'll bite on this. He did not. His defense did improve from last year though which is completely different than what you can say for the rest of the team. He also had 3 true freshman as lead contributors. He was undermanned and did a decent enough job. Holding UGA to 20 Scar to 14 and UK to 10 should have all been wins. The only way this doesnt hurt us is if we get Mike Stoops or Randy Shannon. Any other move will be lateral or more than likely a downgrade.

Yep. And I honestly think that this timing issue has become a strategy in college football that allows schools to hurt one another at the last minute to gain advantage.

Our AD needs to get on top of this and start writing contracts with BIG penalties if you're X days close to signing day. The NCAA will eventually catch on but it will take them YEARS.

Way to many green horns on here to put much stock in to what is posted.

I honestly get sick reading some of the stupid stuff that comes off this forum,no wonder our program is in the dumps we have inbreads and rejects by the scores.

It was recently posted that something big was coming after Christmas. I think the 24-hour wait period before the presser is going to kill some because they are hoping for something else. Just play it cool and wait. See what happens then we go from there.
