Obviously we are all disappointed in Pruitt's results both last year, and especially this year. I'm certain that he and his entire staff are beating themselves up
constantly over the Vols on field showings thus far.

If he eventually aquires a full group (and reliable backups) of meaty, fast, and smart guys on the offensive and defensive lines, an explosive, accurate quarterback, kick-ass defensive backfield, the Vols will win, and compete with the better teams in the SEC.

At that point, Pruitt becomes your greatest hero, and all that nasty crap that was said about him will sure taste S****Y. So why don't we give the man a chance to gather his team, teach them to play his way, and learn to be a head coach. His contract is for 6 years. Why don't we give him at least 4, before we start wanting to start all over AGAIN.

I’m all for it but he has shown very little to garner that kind of optimism. Some of the young guys look like they have potential but our defense has shown nothing to celebrate other than a few stretches here and there. We forced one punt on defense Saturday. It’s one thing to not have a lot of talent but it’s another to look completely lost at times. This team does not look well coached.

i understand... and somewhat agree... HOWEVER he has to show improvement. we have gone backwards in 1 year...not a good sign... plus we don't see leadership anywhere players or coaches and they don't look prepared for most of the games they have played.

half of the players (or more so) look like they don't care and don't get fired up at all... following their leaders emotions on the sidelines I"m afraid

we need someone who gets energized, shows emotion, fire, determination... I thought we had that in his first press conference... where did that go?

We have one of the best coaching staff in the nation.... but who is steering the ship?

That's a chance I'll take. If I'm wrong, I'll admit it, and we'll all go on with life enjoying a revitalized and successful football program. On the other hand, if the coach-worshipers are wrong......

They’ll never admit it.

They take a dump on Dooley and Butch on here daily, and pretend like they weren’t the ones supporting those failures until the pink slip was produced.

Still waiting for them to fall on the sword .......

Instead, they’re in here fluffing the current failure, and will develop amnesia again once he’s out on his rear, blaming him for deep sixing the joint and leaving his stink all around for the next google coach to surely rebuild with his own guys and change the toxic culture.

Stop me if you’ve seen this movie before.

I like re-runs.

4 years
4. Years.
I'm having trouble processing that. And you said at least 4...
If you think we're irrelevant now, let your boy stay around for 4+ years

You know it's bad when Pruitt sycophants can't even fully commit to telling everyone else that they are wrong, but instead that "maybe" they will be wrong.

too funny...it's not about worshipping any coach...it's more about not totally making this school into a total laughing stock all over the world...would you say the "coaching" searches have worked out well for us...it's more about giving a coach some time to try to flip this program into a better program than it is now...we have a second year coach learning as he goes and that means time and recruiting will only turn this around...let him have his contracted time in the sun...no buyout...then, if he can't get the job done, by all means let the coaching search begin...:D

We don’t have to give him 4 years.

But we at least with full support give him two recruiting classes that are his!

He will be fine if our fan base doesn’t ruin recruiting for him with our craziness.

It's never the "Coaches" fault with you guys. We heard the same thing about Dooley, and then about Jones...from the same people. The mental gymnastics that many go through to give this "Coach" some cover for regressing in his second year is astounding to behold. They throw the players that are here under the bus, or say he doesn't have "his" players, say he needs 4 years minimum, that he is more concerned with building a "system".

How about "He is failing to do the most basic thing a "coach" is asked to do....COACH." You know, like Les Miles, or Dan Mullen, or Matt Campbell is doing. Do more with less until you have more. Why is that such a unreasonable thing to ask? Remember....we are talking about his SECOND year. Not the first, "year-zero". Why is there regression against mid-level to bad competition, and why is it unreasonable to ask that?
