You like the idea of a yearly neutral site game in Nashville?

I like seeing big name teams in TBA
On the other hand scheduling games for neutral sites like Nashville is a good thing and could entice the team to play us, but help recruiting.

If Memphis does not want to play us, then schedule another team to play us in Memphis (maybe a Midwest team like Kansas or Oklahoma). During the Ernie and Bernie years we played a late season game in Atlanta against UCLA. Once we rebuild the roster these type national games will be fun to watch

Where exactly would you play in Memphis? Please don't say FedEx Forum, that would be dumb.

If you are gonna be the flagship university for the State of Tennessee, then some games should be played in parts of the state where fans can at least see the teams play every so often. I saw 3 of the 4 games when Pearl was our coach and cannot make it to Knoxville. I have also been to vandy for some of the games and we did well in most. BTW, we won all 4 games at Bridgestone Arena!

Yes, it's a good idea. Bruce Pearl did this a couple of times at Bridgestone Arena and the games were well attended. The Nashville Sports Council sponsored.

Id rather have one in Memphis against a team from the big 12. Memphis is the area we need more help in.

I know it won't happen, but I'd love to see a game be played at some revamped park. Like Rucker park.

University of Memphis has approval authority for all collegiate regular season games played in the forum that doesn't include the Tigers. I doubt the UofM admin would approve UT vs etc.

Did not know that. Thank you.

I'd like to see a game in Memphis. That is an area we need to get a basketball presence in. Besides, Nashville isn't exactly a 'neutral' site, Memphis would be, though.

Nowhere to play in Memphis. How is Nashville not neutral?

Is there really nowhere else to play in Memphis? Hard to imagine a city that big only having one suitable venue for a high major NCAA game.

There's not, they could play at one of the small colleges in the town, but they're not set up to draw a 10k+ attendance game

Yeah I've only been to one other school in Memphis, Rhodes College. Beautiful campus, but teeny tiny. Didn't see their gym, but I am certain it wouldn't be nearly big enough lol

They wouldn't. They don't want UT presence in Memphis to begin with. Imagine giving potential recruits a chance to watch the Vols at the Grindhouse. Not gonna happen.

If the Pyramid were still open, they could play it there, but it is now a Bass Pro Shop supercenter and aquarium.
