Missing 90% of my sister's wedding reception to watch the 2001 LSU game at the hotel bar. Missed dinner, cake cutting etc. But did get back in time to follow-up the groom's mothers' speech, and call my sister a b***h...classic! Her fault for scheduling a fall wedding...just sayin...:D

Well that sucks. Move over here, most of us are broke too, but at least the area where I live is beautiful. It makes it a lot better.

I would love to!

But I am too broke to be able to afford to move out there.

I am considering studying at UT though in 2 years when I go to Uni.

My girl will be a Fr at UT in fall 13. If you get there maybe she could show you around. And I mean that in the most platonic way. Remember we all have guns.:)

Thanks.. its a pipe dream though. Don't bet your house on it.

What's Fr?

Isn't the gun thing a sterotype? Like me saying everyone over here eats fish and chips everyday?

Freshman and no it is not just a stereotype, at least not in the west, south and rural north. Real Americans love their guns. Big city dwellers are a different breed however.:)

When you piss all of your friends off that aren't Tennessee fans because you talk about them all the time.

Seriously? Is gun crime an issue?

I suspect that the more that law abiding citizens get carry permits, the less of an issue gun crime becomes, but that's just my personal opinion.

People who lack self control are going to commit murder, whether they do it with a gun, a knife or a bat. It makes more sense to me to be able to defend my family than to call 911 after one of them has been killed so that the police can file a report.

But that's a subject for the politics forum and I don't want to derail this cool thread you started. :hi:

Not really. To some, they are just another collection, hobby or form of entertainment. For me, nothing relieves stress like a trip to the range. For others, it may be defense. Or both. While the possibility of being a victim to such crime is very low, it's still there. It's all about being prepared if you (or loved ones) become unlucky victims. Criminals do not abide by the law, including gun laws. The large majority of gun owners are just normal people.

I would say impressed....personally. :) Shocked were the people in the pic that was taken of my speech. I wish I could find that pic, but something happened to it. :(

Also, for the last few yrs I've been telling all the girls that I've dated whenever they bring up marriage that a) there will be a pre-nup. If that doesn't scare them off then b) in your wedding vows you will have to state that TN football trumps EVERYTHING even birth of children (have to cover all grounds).

All usually fall for it, and dump me. Except for the current one. Shes a huge SEC homer whose family is from north Alabama. Her mom and 3 other siblings went to Auburn, and the other 5 went to Bama. Need to think of a new way out...:cray:

I lost a wife of 8 years and another 7 year non marriage relationship because when the Vols play I am either going to be there or home in front of my tv watching the game.

My daughter is in her freshmen year at UTK and enjoys it very much!
