You know why the Gator Nation is throwing a fit?

It's not because Kiffin accused Meyer of a recruiting violation; as close as Meyer skates to the line, that has to happen all the time. It's because Kiffin committed an act of what used to be called lèse majesté. He insulted the throne. He did not show due deference to the reigning authority. That's why they're all so......offended. "How DARE you!"

It is funny how I'm characterized as not being able to see the "other side" of the coin, when 99% of the folks here have convinced themselves that the reaction to Kiffin is a) because they fear him b) because LK refuses to show proper respect or c) he is cleverly stealing the spotlight. My friends, this is total garbage. And if you all had any objectivity regarding LK you'd see it as such.

First of all, accusing someone of recruiting violations in the SEC would be on the same level of someone at your workplace accusing you of being rascist only because you are their competitor (if you will). It is rather sickening to be accused of something serious when it simply is not true. Many of you were disgusted when SOS threw the "violation" thing out there.....so my question is, why are you not as disgusted when LK does it?

Other coaches don't fear Kiffin. Other coaches aren't afraid of the "potential" LK's teams have. Rather LK is either laughed at or, because of the ease at which he throws serious accusations they detest him. Fear of Kiffin does not exist. It is so obvious that he is viewed as nothing more than a barking chihuahua that would (will) get his @ss handed to him when the real dogfight begins.

All this garbage he has started by popping off at the mouth has only one advantage, and it will prove to be extremely short-lived.It makes the masses circle the wagons around him. The big problem here is, when folks learn that his bark is much worse than his bite, he'll be seen for what he really is, or in this case, isn't: An SEC caliber coach....both on the field or off.

That must be why Tennessee was the only school Saban and Meyer forbade their commitments from visiting- because they think Kiffin is a joke.

That's rich stuff right there.

I'm just as objective as you on Kiffin, we're just on opposite ends of the spectrum. You think he's God, and I think he's a joke. I base my objectivity on documented facts, while you base yours on hope and a slogan similar to "YES WE CAN!!".

Sounds like you are scared Phillip? Give the guy a break he was talking to boosters getting them fired up, he wasn't giving the press an interview or calling the NCAA to report it for gods sake.

Just go watch the film!!

This is a gauntlet thrown down. This is a coach saying, "I've reviewed the last 15 years of Tennessee's history with Florida, and it stops here." We were pretty freaking comfortable as a #2 behind Florida for a lot of years -- even won a national championship from that position -- but now here's a new coach saying that that's not good enough. We are going to stand you up and hit you in the mouth and fight you back.

That's why, of all the things that have transpired between UT and UF over the last few years, this has the Mullet Nation in the biggest anti-UT uproar I've ever seen. That's why all the Gator trolls were out today. Tennessee has a new coach, and apparently he doesn't know his proper place.

EXACTLY!!!!

I TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!! :good!:

I don't think he's god at all; I don't even know whether he's a good football coach yet. He certainly wasn't one of my top half-dozen candidates when we hired him. But all I know is that he laid out a plan to rebuild this program when he took the job, and thus far he's followed that plan to the letter. Obviously it won't matter if he can't get it done on the field, but given the all-star coaching staff he's assembled, there's no reason not to be optimistic about that too. Meanwhile you claim to be "objective," yet you hate the guy so much that you're going to be rooting against your own team this fall because you can't wait to see him fail.

None of us know how all this is going to turn out, of course, but there's unquestionably more excitement and energy around Tennessee football right now than there has been in 10 years. It's too bad that you loathe the new coach so much that you're completely missing out on it.

Honestly, the way he carries himself, not only do I know he will be a terrible HC, but I simply think he is a class-less individual. He has been on Daddy's coat tails all his life and he is undeserving of being the HC at UT.

but he is our HC. Soooo, I guess we can give him 10 years and then entice with a raise after having a sub par year and then sh*t can him for the next, best thing.

Lemme guess, Peyton Manning in 2025.

.....then I wonder why I am going resume my VASF contribution and try to get season tickets for the first time in years.

Being accused of a recruiting violation and calling someone a racist are in no way even close to comparable.. Every single school in the nation makes minor violations every year. many of them.
