I miss going into the season thinking this is the year we could win it all and thinking of all the possible scenarios of what it would take for that to happen and that sort of thing. I mean starting the season ranked allows this to happen... But this year I would just be happy for us to win 7-8 games which is not UT football... Hopefully Kiffin will take us back to starting the year with all of the if, ands, and buts.

I agree, from about 1994-2002 I remember looking at the schedule when it was first released and thinking if we can get by Florida we might go undefeated and play for the national championship.

If he doesn't, he'll be gone in a few years and they'll find someone who can do the job. The hard part was tearing down the inbred heirarchy that had developed up there.

I miss coming into the season thinking Jonathan Crompton would be the next Peyton Manning.

Yes, I second this. I am not happy with 7 wins but 8 is fine. 9 would be good. I don't see us getting more then 10 and if so that would be amazing. There is no doubt we used to feel if we beat FL then we could run table play in BCS etc. Now I am not sure anyone really thinks we will beat FL this year or next. We could but it is a 2-3 year road back to the place we want to be. As long as Kiffin gets recruits we are in good shape for the future. He can be replaced after he fills cupboard if he falls on face.

Seven or eight or nine wins would be ok, but if we were able to upset one or two teams this year that would be icing on the cake i.e. Florida. I'm so tired of hearing about the a$$kicking we are going to take in the swamp.

I miss getting up on Saturdays with that feeling in your stomach. The feeling that says its a huge game and if we win, we could be top 5 or even number one. I miss believing that we have a chance against Florida or Alabama.

Give it time. Give it time.

I miss looking at an 11 game schedule and being able to pick at least 9 that we could automatically "out-talent".

I miss thinking we have a great shot to win every single game instead of thinking i hope we stay close

I miss the days when UT actually played up to or even beyond their potential. Sadly, those times became much less frequent during Fulmer's tenure.

I could care less about wins and losses this year. I just want the team to come out and play harder and with more passion than our opponent for twelve straight games.

Quite simply... I miss enjoying a Vols football game for a full 4 quarters. Win or lose (preferably win) it was always nice staying interested in the game till the end.

"less frequent" is being very kind.

I know what you mean. I just miss us being competitive every game until the end

Frankly, I miss going into a game, knowing that we were going to win, and seeing domination on the field. I miss watching games where you knew it was over in the 3rd quarter (with US on the winning end). I hate that in the last few years of Fulmer's tenure, EVERY game seemed uncertain. I remember we played Marshall a couple of years ago in a torrential down pour and really had doubts as to whether we were going to win that game until late in the 4th quarter!

Look on the bright side, think about all the remote controls and other objects that will be spared this year.

I miss going to a home game and not hearing a bunch of crap from the visting team, because they know a a*s kicking was about to happen and they can't do a blip thing about.:dance2:

I miss guys like Al Wilson, Raynoch Thompson, Dale Jones, Leonard Little, etc. Guys that gave their all for UT and would go out there and hit somebody in the mouth. We have that in Eric Berry but it seems like the old players would rally around those guys, now EB is the only one out there that gives a sh*t.
