Another Jet fan checking in. I still worry the team that lost to the freaking Raiders and barely beat the Chiefs will show up again at some point, but winning two games on a row on the road in division in two places where they never play well (Buf and NE) certainly has most of us thinking great things.

The Titans have a great D obviously... secondary might be a bit suspect but you make up for it with that front 4 stopping the run and getting pressure on the QB.

Jets oline has been solid this year... they're going to have to protect Favre and at least make the Titans respect the run.

Jets D has been excellent, especially when they blitz the QB (which they just stopped doing in the 2nd half last week for some reason?!).

This should be a great game... I worry about Favre making a big mistake at a crucial time. Other than that all I know is I'll be there... it'll be fun... and both of us are going to the playoffs.:dance2:

I keep hearing the secondary is suspect, what has been suspect at all with Chris Hope or Cortland Finnegan's play this year?

i think it's being said to be suspect based off the nick harper injury and the almost immediate injury of King

I am very concerned about the spot vacated by Harper - King. Carr was picked on all day against the Jags and only late did he make a play that really any NFL corner would have made. Plus his special teams play will likely suffer as a result of him playing on D.

Kyle Vanden Bosch coming back will be very helpful to the defense though and I think that alone will be the difference in the game. Farve will have to throw under duress a lot and that's when he's ripe for turnovers.

The Jets defense will have little effect on how well the offense performs IMO. They can only stop themselves in this one.

Jets may keep this close, but the Titans win in the end.

That was a great catch. I'm not sure that any corner could have kept his feet in bounds like he did.

yeah, he did a great job keeping his feet inbounds, but i dont think you can play all game giving the WR that big of a cushion...that'll be costly later on

The jets have no defense. Len (whale) and chris johnson should have a feild day. Collins won't have to pass that much.

they apparently have the league's 4th best rush D in YPG, 4th in total rush yards and pretty high on most of the other run-d related categories....

however it looks like their near the bottom as far as pass D goes

I sure hope Indy has to go to the Jets in the playoffs, Peyton will shred their defense that let Matt Cassel throw for over 400 yards plus. The Jets are a paper tiger, the Titans as much as I hate them will handle Farve and the Jets easily. In the NFL you can not go by who will win by common opponents, the fact is the Titans have the superior offensive and defensive lines, better running game and a QB that does not force passes that are not open. I can see Farve throwing 3-4 picks vs this ball hawking titan D. Of all the AFC teams we may face in the playoffs the jets concern me the least.

Nick Harper said he doesn’t know yet if he will be able to play Sunday against the New York Jets.

But the foot injury that sidelined him last week at Jacksonville came about through very unusual circumstances. It seems Harper had broken his ankle and did not know it until doctors informed him of it when he had off-season surgery on his right ankle.

It seems that when the injury healed on its own, calcium deposits formed where the crack had been and the ankle became inflamed.

“When I had my ankle surgery, the doc asked me if I’d ever broken my ankle before, and come to find out, my ligament was half torn off on the outside and broken on the inside and had a crack going down on the inside too,” Harper said. “I never knew any of that was in there. He said I had broken my ankle at one point. I didn’t know, because I don’t ever remember missing any time.”

Harper said he remembered the exact play against the Chicago Bears when the pain began, but even watched the film of the game and could not pinpoint what happened to his foot.

“We watched the play, because I knew the exact play when it happened and we don’t know if I just tweaked it,” Harper said. “It started out, I had an injury that had a crack in it. It healed on its own. I didn’t know it was broken, so it healed on its own and some of the calcium that built up on it, it just flared up on me. This is the first time it’s ever happened.”

Harper termed himself as “day-to-day” as has Titans coach Jeff Fisher, but said there is no sense in trying to rush back into the lineup and have the injury drag on for several weeks.

“There’s no rush. We’ve set ourselves up in pretty good position right now, so there’s no use in going out and letting it nag me all year,” Harper said. “We’re just gonna take it one week at a time. It just popped up week before last.”

Harper’s situation, along with Reynaldo Hill, who missed another day of practice Thursday because of a hip pointer, could leave the Titans a bit thin at cornerback. Eric King is out with a broken forearm, leaving Chris Carr, who had an interception last week against the Jaguars, to run with the first unit in practice and start if Harper is out again.

As for when King might return, Fisher offered no set timetable as to whether he would stay or head to injured reserve. He did acknowledge that King is lost for the regular season and would only be able to return for the playoffs, if that.

“I think you could assume that. If he returns, he could not return until after the regular season,” Fisher said.

The top candidate for a roster spot in the event the Titans feel they need emergency help would be practice squad cornerback Cary Williams, their seventh-round pick out of Washburn.

“I’m just going in every week like it’s an up week for me. I don’t take any days off or anything like that,” Williams said. “Hopefully, when my number is called, I’ll be ready.

“I’m just going to let the coaches be the coaches and leave it up to them.”

KVB could've been back several weeks ago if he hadn't of kept trying to push it and come back - I know that's not his personality.. but still - that's exactly what he's doing now - just several weeks later.

Yet another Jets fan checking in...

I think this will be the toughest game for both teams because of how well we match up against each other. I think the game will be won on the trenches!

I do think the Jets come into this game with a lot of talent and a lot of confidence and that can spell trouble for Titans. Specially if they are already focused on trying to stay undefeated!

If you think the game will be won in the trenches than the Jets will lose. Their only hope is that grandpa Farve can air it out without throwing too many INT's. Of course we all know he will throw some but that's a given with Farve. If the Bears or Ravens defense can't stop the Titans than they shouldn't be too concerned with what the Jets have.

I will be on the 50 for the game. Hopefully the outcome will be different from the other Titans games I have attended.
