So while I'm trolling around (politely) on a Virginia Tech board I see a thread saying that their "awesome safety" would cause Julio Jones to be completely ineffective in our season opener.

When I disagreed with him he replied with and I gladly quote... "Name one safety that Alabama has faced that compares to ours?

I replied with "Eric-****ing BERRY!"

With Darren Evans out, Bama will be the overwhelming favorite. Ya'll better represent for the conference. Vols will take care of Western KY.

I know alot of fans of many different schools, and not many compare to VA Tech. I do not mean that in a good way neither.

Any school that has had the Vick brothers as their QB's should receive some serious sanctions on that fact alone.

I think VA. Tech is over rated this year like they are most years. I personally think Alabama will come out and put an old fashioned beating on them, but i could be wrong.

On a related note, it says a lot about how great of a player you are when other teams put them on their resume of who they've played against.

it should be a good game but I agree, bama should put a pretty good beatdown on the Hokies.

I agree... VT is going to need some Vaseline for their ride home back to Blacksburg.

what's up with all the hatred for the hokies? I'll be happy to see bama go down, I don't care who it is against. Let's go hokies!

Not hatred....Alabama is a much larger, more physical team than the Hokies. I dont see them getting beat down again.

The only part of that post that I do not believe is that Virginians live in log cabins instead of caves. :)

I don't hate the Hokies, I just think they are a little over rated and I think Bama is going to still have the Utah game on their minds and just put a beating on them. Bama is a much more physcial team IMO, and I think it will show. I am really not sold on Tyrod Taylor as a passing QB either, to be honest.
