Look at who they beat (or didn't beat). RPI has flaws. USC's lone win OOC against a P5 team was at Vandy, and Vandy ended up being bad. They also lost to Oklahoma on a neutral court. Their only solid OOC wins were MTSU and NM State. They played 5 games against UCLA, Arizona, and Arizona State and didn't win any. They really didn't get screwed.

Yea this year the RPI seemed to have more "issues"
Than ever before but none the less history was made

Yeah, prolly. Don’t have to worry much about that though. Either way USC has a better case than some of the teams let in

It was all about quality wins instead of RPI. ASU, OU, and Syracuse had better quality wins.

I feel like OU, Arizona St and Syracuse probably shouldn’t have been in

I feel like Auburn got a tough draw. They are in the same bracket as Kansas, Duke, and Michigan State.

Oklahoma had about as much business being in as me and group of 4 friends.

It's just clear they don't care about how you finish. OU had more quality wins than anyone who was outside except for maybe Okie State, but Okie State's OOC schedule was terrible. You can't play 7 scrubs OOC.

The truth is, these teams have not shot at winning the tournament so it doesn’t really matter

This is the truth...every year there are snubs, but those bubble teams are on the bubble for one reason or another, you just don’t know what the committee is going to weigh more year to year.

I agree and I Really think the Q1 thing favors power 5 teams like this. With that said the tourney needs more underdog stories.

It's needs a MTSU(33 RPI)

It needs a St Mary's (40 RPI)

It needs a WKU ( 39 RPI)

Instead of the Syracuses of the world. Nobody cares about seeing them play outside of their fans. We all would love to see an underdog make a run.

Q1 is making it tougher on the underdogs and I don't like it

My s curve calculation based on what the committee originally released had Florida St, Syracuse, UCLA, and Arizona St as the last 4 in. So pretty consistent. Shouldn’t be too much of a surprise. Oklahoma was the last team w a bye.

It had St Bonny as a 10 seed. They got jobbed having to be in the play in. Oklahoma belonged there more than them

OKie State got hosed for OU. Other than that it’s whatever. Nothing else stands out.

UT is about where they should be. No complaints.

Entirely disagree. The committee very clearly stated that Q1 was incredibly important as well as no bad losses.

OSU: 5-12 against Q1; 88 RPI; 52 SOS
OU: 6-8 against Q1; 48 RPI; 7-2 against RPI top 26 (iirc); 25 SOS

Less wins in Q1, lower RPI, and lower SOS. Plus, anecdotal maybe, OSU lost against Wichita St at home while OU beat them in the road. Under no circumstances does an inclusion of OSU but not OU make any sense with the committees criteria.

SOS is a flawed stat if one team played 17 Q1games but was significantly downgraded from another with 14. I am sure it is because if lower ranked teams but let's be honest there should be no difference between playing a 150 and a 250 ranked team

Same kinda thing can be said for supposed “balanced” brackets.

Why does it matter which bracket has the weakest 16 seed?

Hey, we're in! If this was our 5th straight appearance? I might argue we deserved a 2. But I am just glad they are in the field.
