You don’t stick with a failed leader when you are a $700 million dollar brand.

worth and money at hand is totally different...fluidity...:D

GO BIG ORANGE...BEAT UTC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So you want to fire a staff that has beaten 2 top 25 sec teams in 14 games with the same players that went almost 2 years without winning a sec game that sounds smart . And the talent coming in is good just young and we are changing from a spread to a pro style and having to play young talent cause most of the upperclassmen are poptarts.

Does defeating two top 25 teams trump six losses of 25 points or more, one being to Vandy? Then following that up with loses to a Sunbelt team and BYU?

We are improving and we may have some more upsets this year until JG gets better or we get another QB we may get stagnant.

No brand sticks with what is obviously failed leadership. You fire quickly and hire slowly. And when I say fire quickly, I mean once it’s been shown that the person can’t perform at the level of job they have. It’s far more damaging to any brand to hang onto poor leadership then it is to pay $9 million dollars in buyouts. The longer this continues the longer you put the brand at risk.

Really, you think it is that easy. Where does one look for a better coaching staff? Hypothetically, after paying millions on buyouts, how much millions are available for the new staff? Oh, here is an idea, go to GA and see if you can find another Dooley.

Great point!

Now who are we gonna come and get to lead this $700 million brand?

Hey I’ll do it for much less than the entire 700 million. $1400 a month, a nice used trailer, and of course a decent used mustang gt.......I’ll take it.

Disclaimer: I’ll probably be dumber than Dooley, develop talent much worse than Butch, and I know less about quarterbacks than Pruitt.

Everyone is dealing with facts and figures while we either under the weight of a curse!

I know that somewhere amongst our fans there exists a powerful hillbilly haint conjurer who can reverse the curse so ffs get on it.

This crap can’t be explained by facts and figures! We’re in the metaphysical realm now boys.

This is all part of the plan to catch Alabama off guard and when we do play them BOOM. JG throws for 400 yards and 5 TDs. Then we lose the rest of our games

Timing of firing/hitting isn't about a specific number of years, it's about each individual scenario being assessed. Successful programs fire when the time is right, not at a minimum number of years, while simultaneously ignoring the program being burned into the ground. If there ever was a case for a 2 year coach, Pruitt is working hard to be that guy.

There is a guy who is a winner working for ESpN right now. If his wife would let him, why not hire UM

Because he will say no. The man has retired twice because of how coaching effected his health. And the situations he walked into were far from the devastation we have here. This mess would probably kill him.

Great analysis. This is very true!!!

You're just stupid if you think firing him will help.

Wow! Just...wow! Tell me you and the 21 others who liked this post are kids. If your adults, God help us!

Florida fired a coach middle of his third year after winning the sec east in his first two seasons, how the **** did they manage to get anyone to take that job? I’m genuinely curious.

Comparing the last decade or so of Florida to Tennessee is not only laughable but utterly stupid however not surprising seeing some of the stuff on here from some of you people. And like you said they were coming off winning the East, Tennessee hasn't sniffed the East in years. Come up with a better argument than that.

I don't see us improving, we have looked like crap since the Mizzu game.
Luckily people like you have zero say in anything that goes on. Jeremy Pruitt is coach today, tomorrow and next season as well.

Yeah I’m the stupid one. I’m done with people like you.

So you believe it’s smart to hang on to someone you believe can’t succeed? Bc that’s literally what I have been arguing. Now you may think he can. We would disagree on that. Hope I am wrong but doubt I am.

Yeah I’m the stupid one. I’m done with people like you.

People like me pointing out your ignorance? People like me pointing out facts to you? People like me who know firing a coach 14 games in would be a disaster? But it's ok if you're done, we won't have to see anymore of your idiotic b.s. anymore.

UT brings in the most money of any brand

Get off the checkbook and write a huge check to a known coach with experience with a blank check for staff

Get Fulmer and the athletic departments nose out of the football programs business

^^ only way to turn it around from the outside looking in

Whether you like Pruitt or dislike Pruitt is irrelevant at this point because he is going to be the coach at least through next year. 14 games isn't enough time to rebuild a program and with a 9.5 million dollar buyout for Pruitt and a 20 million buyout for he and his staff combined, he isn't going anywhere. Since I don't feel it's productive to just bitch and moan when it won't change any of the relative facts, I am going to hope for improvement and see what happens. Of course I will still be an armchair quarterback but I won't be calling for the coach's head because there's just no point in it.
