Now that we have our coach, the long roller coaster that we've been on for months between butch being fired, to the Currie screw job, and to fulmer being placed in charge, it just really hit me. I had been so preoccupied with all of this to realize our season is really over, and now becomes the long dredge of the off-season.

Hopefully, some good recruits come back into the picture, maybe get some surprises. But beyond that, we will have to wait til spring before we have even a decent taste of Tennessee football. And August seems so far away. Tonight, I say to myself, as I do every year when this feeling overcomes me, and I'll share it with you all, and that is....

I hope I don't die before next season.

That's really the worst part of all of this.

Have you heard our basketball team is looking pretty good? That should be a good start to easing football withdrawals.

There's truth to that. I usually become a hockey fan around this time of year but nothing ever beats watching Tennessee football. The first few months are the hardest.

We will know by February whether or not our new coach was worth hiring.

Do you remember the last hire. He was pretty good on February if was the Aug-Nov stuff that wasn't so great.

I think what you meant to say was FEB 2020. That will give him 2 full seasons.

No. I'm hearing Pruitt is the saviour for our recruiting class this year. If not, well...

I'm totally fine with taking my dirt nap. Tennessee Football died a few years ago. I can go peacefully knowing that I lived through our last great season in 1998. Even if Pruitt is successful, it's not like he really wants to be here. That's what Fulmer was supposed to bring and he failed. Pruitt may be successful here, but his heart will always be in Alabama. He will step over our dead football program to rush back to bammer if he ever gets the chance. That's not cool. What were you thinking Phil?

How in the hell do you know what is going on in his head? Who knows, he may fall in love with UT but with all the A**holes on here it will be hard.

Recommend shifting focus to MBB who should be playing late into March. Also if the Preds keep it up they could be playing late into June. Makes the off season much more tolerable.

Here is to hoping you don't die in the next 5 years because that is the shortest amount of time to potentially, but not likely, hire a good head coach.
