you can't make this up (Currie on Leach)

I am a little confused. This is the Mike Leach whose current win-loss record is 38-37 with Washington State, right? Even if you look back at his overall record at Texas Tech, he only had one year that stood out (2008 11-2). Most seasons he was right at 9-4 or 8-5. That is the same record that got our last coach in hot water and led to his firing. Why is this fanbase so bipolar on this now idiotic coaching search?

currie doesn't get to make that kind of call. he's doing what he's allowed to do. and that's not a defense of him. just a fact.

Leach is an attorney or at least graduated from law school which probably makes him smarter that anyone associated with this search from the Tennessee side. THAT is what scares these peabrains off.

Getting cornholed by Gundy AGAIN just amazes me of the incompetence in Knoxville.

It’s the fact WSU was going like 1-11 and 2-10 before he got there. Nows he’s turned them into a top 25 program. That’s impressive.

Did pretty well at Texas Tech, has never won the Pac-12. Normally I'd pass, but the candidate pool is getting smaller. I'd definitely keep him on the radar, but not sure he'd be my first.

Because there is a huge difference between consistently going 9-4 at doormat programs like Wazzu and Texas Tech and going 9-4 at Tennessee. Its MUCH harder to consistently post 9-4 seasons at those places given the talent they are able to bring in. Tennessee has way more resources and clout than those schools put together. Its the same reason Florida just hired Mullen from Mississippi State despite the fact that he really only had one "elite" season. Its just harder to consistently win at some schools. Don't get why that's so hard to understand.

Leach isn't the long term answer but it would at least be fun and interesting while he's here. Same would have been true with Gundy.

If we aren't going to be perennial contenders at least give me some excitement.

It’ll bring stability for a few years with a chance we’d win the East. I’ll take it.

Am told #Tennessee AD John Currie's intrigued with Mike Leach but the WAZZU coach having sued his old employer is a tough one for him & the #Vols to get past.

Lol but Schianos baggage was ok?

Maybe he means they don't understand why they didn't lock up Craig James as well. I can understand that quote if that's the case.

Oh ok but Schianos saying his QB is a drug addict because he has ADD is better, or what about having his players video taped on the sidelines to see how they were acting during a loss, or just being an out and out tyrant to all those around him at both Rutgers and Tampa

Currie screwed us all over so bad when he decided to be Haslams “female dog” and not actually do a coaching search. He didn’t ever contact Kelly, he didn’t contact any of the big names, he laughed in everyone’s face about gruden, and he even ignored all the hot up and comers, all for a coach that got railroaded by our previous coach and was below mediocre in a horrible conference and fell flat on his face in the NFL.

I am so ashamed of my Alma mater. This has become a comedy of errors. I have stopped believing it was just a mistake, we have real incompetents running our University. If we end up with Dorean we are doomed. Just last year he was on the chopping block. He won't last more than 2 seasons and that is being generous.

Didnt Leach lock players in a box for hours when they dropped a pass or fumbled? Might not be the best choice.
