You can't hire a top coach to a dumpster fire

They win games, something we dont do alot of

But dude....and this isn't directed at you, I'm just using you're comment. Many keep saying 'give him more time", then others say "we say that every time". Well, Lol, we also say " we could of had .....", every damn time too. But we never get .......its like you making fun of those that say "this is our year"

"This next time by gawd, we'll get us a damn good coach."

Your point is spot on. What I'm amused by is the fact that this seems like an annual post. Seems UT is always ready to fire and start yet another damned coaching search. It's almost like we're playing some video game. Game goes badly and you simply hit the reset button and start over....and over...and over again. Pruitt might not be the answer, but good grief, let's give the man a chance to sink or swim with a roster stocked with the players he has chosen.
I agree whole heartedly! I wanted Leach ever since Kiffin left and once again,I didn't get what I wanted but now that Pruitt is the coach, he's going to have to get a fair shot. One season and one game is not a fair shot. I am embarrassed and frustrated by the loss but that is irrelevant to the fact that Pruitt has to be given a fair chance. If we did fire Pruitt, the same guy who hired him would be hiring the next guy. So why would the results be guaranteed to be better? I know some will flame away with the same old "you're accepting mediocrity" garbage but the fact of the matter is I'm just facing reality.

To all who are calling for Pruitt to be fired I ask you: What top level coach would comer here at the stage this program is in right now? It's a total hot mess. And no, money won't do it either. A top level coach can get a job paying high $ at plenty of other schools so TN is not a desired school these days like some you still think it is. And the many HC changes is mostly how we sunk to this level so keeping Pruitt at least 4 yrs probably makes sense just to see if he can stabilize the program and then maybe a top notch HC can be hired.

I am not a Pruitt supporter so don't flame me for that, just saying take a look at the overall picture of the program before you just call for everyone to be fired. Thats not the answer right now.

I’m sure you could hire at least 2000 coaches that could take this team and beat Georgia state

Why do people think UT is always about to seriously pony up the $ needed for a championship winning coach? We have never spent big $ on a HC hire. Kiffins salary was low at the time, dooley was hired for cheap, and butch wasnt making top level $ when he was hired. Neither is pruitt. I understand that we have a lot of resources but we havent seen our administration do anything like what A&M did when they went out and hired Jimbo at 10 years/75mil

What I would give for Leach. Do I think he can win a national championship with his style, No. But he will win you 8 to 10 a year. Throw in a major upset every few years, hell I hardly remember what that feels like. I think they call it "being relevant"?

Living in the NW this guy does more with less than any other coach. He sure as hell wouldn't have lost to G state and his players love him, fans love him, media love him. Exactly what is needed at this point.

I dont know if that bridge has been burned or not?

UT could've gotten a top tier coach but they felt they could hire anyone on the cheap and fill the stadium and that is exactly what they have done for years...And we filled that historic stadium to watch a losing coach make losing teams and give us car salesmen type of talks to keep us going there for even more terrible football and we get rid of them and they hire another clone just like the last one...This one might easily be the worst.

Mike Leach.....hell at this point look for a mid major guy that know how to build a fundamentally sound team and prep / motivate a team. Not some hot shot with no hc experiencence that thinks he is Nick Saban.
Like Butch?
