First play of the game I roll the pocket right with all receivers running fly routes. Dobbs 35 yd gainer. Second play screen to kamara after fake to Hurd. Third slant to Von. Fourth roll right throw wheel route. Hurd up the middle on next play for td

I think the game plan should be whatever Jones and Debord says it should be. After all, they are the coaches and we should stand in awe of their offensive playcalling prowess. Anything else is just being a negavol.

Wow OP. No wonder DeBord was in the press box 3 hours early. That's a lot of stuff for the OC to be in charge of.

I'd put this play in

Only problem is, we neither have a QB that can accurately throw that particular pass, nor have we shown to have a WR that can get open on that route and catch the ball on that route.

1. Protect the ball. Bama had 3 pick 6's last week
2. Run Dobbs. Bama has had issues at times with mobile QB's
3. Quick throws BEYOND the line of scrimmage. We will lose yards on screens against Bama.

As OC, all I know is Dobbs should never sit still in the pocket and you cant go wrong giving it to Hurd. Dobbs needs to be on the move with a pass / run option anytime a pass play is called. Im also scared to death that Bama is going to get a pick 6 if we run 10 WR screens like we like to do so they need to be used sparingly. I would also expect to see more two back packages today featuring Hurd and Kamara.

Can you quit hijacking every thread?? The OP didn't ask can we do this he ask what would you do. So take your deebie downer azz to a walk off the cliff thread.

Offensively: A lot of play action medium level passes. This will open up the run. Dobbs needs to run 65% of the time. I would design some passes to Hurd past the LOS.

Defensively: No one on one coverage past 8 yards.

Ironically, regardless of the defensive scheme were using, thats what weve been doing all year long anyway. LOL

Run to loosen up the coverage and bombs away.

I would have been running the pro set all year ( I hate the spread or read option whatever butch calls it) . I would try to get both our great backs in the game at the same time and would try play action passing game . I would also use as much of the clock every down ( unless we are behind) because our defense is beat up and having depth problems. I would hope its a low scoring game and maybe a big play on special teams could make the difference .

Throw to the TE a minimum of 7 times. Deep sideline routes at least 4 times, only throw deep middle if clearly open. Line up 3 wide then run. Kamara in slot for some short passes.
