Most people that have ever been on any team (work or play), realize that postitive momentum helps the cause. When you have that negative guy that knows everything won't work, doesn't like this, complains about that, he drags you down. That's why it's disapointed to see some of the negative things at times for me.
I do think we have different levels of fans and some imposters as well.
We also maybe just have some people that have never been part of any kind of team in their life and really just don't get it.
With that said, I see nothing wrong with questioning many issues, etc. etc.
But the constant doom and gloom some want to spew is not needed or helpful IMO.
You just have to learn to laugh at the knuckleheads.
Anyway,..... tough game Saturday. UGA's offense has me concerned. Hope we can slow them down. GBO!
A great team will still win no matter how many of the fans boo them. A poor team will still lose no matter how hard the fans cheer them on. Bottom line is the fans have about as much to do with the product on the field, wins or losses as I have on who wins the lottery.
I am sick of the debates about what constitutes a real fan. You have everything from the orange tinted glass wearers to the doom and gloom predictors and they are all equally legitimate fans in my book, doesn't matter if you disagree with them or not they are no more or less a fan than you are anyone else is.
This diatribe isn't directed at you in particular I just wanted to respond to a part of your post and explain how I see the situation here.
That's fair we can agree to disagree. IMO positive momentum has a lot to do with success. I have been around it and it works.
Show up at an emtpy stadium and see how pumped you are as a player. Football is an emotional and momentum type game (i think).
I'm not debating you.
We do have different levels of fans, thats OK but we do.
I agree that an empty stadium does effect a team, but good teams and even those showing the promise of competing do not have empty stadiums. 99% of the time they are empty because there is a poor product on the field and no commitment to make it better.
The fans have at best a minimal effect on the outcome of the kind of season any particular team has.
There may be different levels of fans but in the end they are all the same. The rabid fans who go all out and paint their bodies for games are just as likely to jump ship when things are down as a more reserved fan might be. In the end fans are fans assigning levels to fans is highly subjective.
According to some posters here, if we question the coaching staff on any decision that they make, were not being a "real fan" of the team. That crap is ridiculous.
It's a legitimate question to ask why in the hell we couldn't stop a 4th and 15? Why did we run a predictable play call on 4th and 1? Why did we have only 10 men on defense 1 week and 13 men another week. Why did we offer Devrin Young, while no other schools did?
Now there are a slight few that want Dooley to fail, for their own personal agenda, but when one wants to ask a legitimate question on why in the hell the coaching staff made their decision. Don't resort to pulling that real fan crap and turn a blind eye and like sheep say "I have faith in Dooley".
