A mountain doesnt do anybody a damn lick of good sitting there unminded. Throw some equipment n miners up there n you've created $50-60k jobs for many families. I mean it's not damn government handouts n it's not Donald trump money, but its plenty enough for a country boy.

Don't get me wrong, I love these mtns, but I also love driving from my grandparents in the morning n passing 10 coal trucks on the 8 mile drive. Means kids have food and shoes and clothes, someone is able to make a mortgage payment or take their wife out to dinner for their anniversary. It don't matter much to most, but east ky girls have coal in their blood n know for alot of people it's as valuable as gold.

I'm not judging. Hopefully they put those kids in college to expand their options though.

I agree. Education is key in this region. I got a great chance to talk to some 6th graders about college n athletics and they were so intrigued. Made me feel good

Then the coal company came with the world's largest shovel
And they tortured the timber and stripped all the land
Well, they dug for their coal till the land was forsaken
Then they wrote it all down as the progress of man.
