You all make me sick

This forum is a joke. Last week everyone was all happy and everything is better. Now, you want the man gone. If you are going to be a Fan then act like one. This was going to happen anyway. So we got beat beat KY, big F*&*%^$ deal. We have some pure talent getting ready to explode all over the SEC east. You people want to cheer on Saturday and S*^% all over everyone on Sunday.
Dooley has created something we can be proud of in the VFL program. When Fulmer and K was coaching we was good and half of the team was in jail. People this program was destroyed. We have about 20 recruits out of the last 3 or 4 classes. Do you have any idea what that does to a program.
Why don't you all support the team we love. You all think your some football guru. Maybe you need to apply for the job sense you know so much about how to build a program or run an offense. Start acting like the VOL fans you say you are.

Couldn't agree more. I HOPE that the majority of UT fans aren't like the "people" on here. If so, it's no wonder we can't get a big-name coach. The majority on this board are the whiniest, pathetic bunch of morons I've ever seen. Last week, we're "turning the corner." This week, FIRE HIM! lol Stupid, stupid, stupid. I can only hope that recruits and current players don't read this garbage. For now, Dooley is the coach. Until he's not, I'll support him, and EACH AND EVERY PLAYER on the team. And while the season didn't pan out like we would've liked, thanks to the players and coaches for going out there and giving us all something to cheer and look forward to during the week. (And some on here something to cry and whine about all week). Can't wait until September! lol Hopefully, I'll forget about this site before then, though. It's like a train wreck. I know it's a sad, pathetic place, yet I can't look away. I always log in for amusement at the expense of some of the more moronic, knuckle-dragging types on here, yet I always leave annoyed. Ugh!

Suffer?

WTF ever

I buried a friend that suffered from cancer for 8 months

Now I watch his kids suffer from losing their dad

Suffer my ass!!

I hate that, really. Endure might have been a better verb. I need a verb that embodies extremely unpleasant.

Now thats perpspective. Sorry For the loss of your friend and his children. However I see the context the poster was trying to explain. Tough having all our SEC peers moving in different direction than we are.

See, again with this type of thing. I'm truly sorry for the loss of your friend and those kids losing a dad. However, this is a UT football forum. I don't think someone is out of line for saying they 'suffer' through a football loss.

I want to win, but I sure as hell dont lose sleep over the outcome of this team

Its not going to make me any richer, wiser, good looking, or hung.

More serious **** for me to be concerned about in life.

If you get to the point that it means that much to you, then you have truly lost whats important in life and thats life itself

Life is too damn short to be worried about something you have no control over in the first place

Do tell? Who were the ones posting threads demanding "where are the negavols now" after the Vandy win?

I thought we made some progress after that game. But that all gets blown away when you can't motivate a team to win a bowl-clinching game, can't run the football against the nation's 100th ranked rush defense, and can't beat a team starting a receiver at quarterback.

Some of us demand better from this coach and his program. Others just marvel at VFL, the orange pants, or the recruiting and ignore the train wreck on the field.

I would love to see one post you can show that says that.

Your silence on that subject is your acceptance of the situation. As long as Dooley is around, you are just plain satisfied with the way things are right now.

Instead, you prefer to project Dooley's failure onto the fans. Who is at fault on VN for being unable to run the football on Kentucky? Which poster couldn't stop Kentucky from running the football for 200 yards? What group on this forum took the #1 ranked kicker and punter from a recruiting class and turned them into what we see today?

I forgot the coaches play and the players sit back and watch. My bad. Im not ok with losing, but Dooley isnt getting fired this year so accept it, shut up, or move on.

Ahhh who cares? When it comes down to it, it's a game. A game we're not even playing in. We lost to UK. So what? The world is still here. People are getting so wound up in this thing for nothing. Yeah UT sucks pretty bad, but they're gonna get better. We still have some of the best history and tradition out there. But for those who are so pissed off and wasting your time venting, grow up. If you got something to say about my post well honestly I don't give a crap what you think...

I completely understand that. The poster was simply making a point about fan suffering. Again, I think we all know there are more important life issues.

I think people are more concerned about returning to work and having to face UK fans they talked **** to all week

The team let them down. Cant back up the **** talk

I hate when that happens to me. Crow tastes like ****

You do realize that this is a forum for rabid college football fans? If your purpose here is only to prostletize about what is and is not important in life, then perhaps you'll have better luck in the political forum.

You seem to equate Vol-for-Life with Coach-for-Life. It didn't work that way for Harvey Robinson. It didn't work that way for Bill Battle. And it will not work that way for Derek Dooley. There are standards of progress that need to be met, standards this coach and his offensive staff in particular have failed to reach.

Seeing Dooley and his staff overwhelmed by a program with an offense that couldn't pass and a defense that couldn't stop anything will tend to irritate people.

Anything good that was accomplished during the Vandy win was obliterated by this defeat.

You can go on and be happy with 1-7 in the SEC, a running game that is non-existent even with five returning starters on the offensive line, and a kicking game that is in decline in spite of the talent existing in those positions. Those of us who expect more from a man purporting to be Tennessee's head football coach will continue demanding better than what we saw yesterday.

You are right CDD is not guaranteed a CFL position at UT. But I think you might be embelishing the VFL=CFL scenario. A 5 year contract does not = CFL. No one is "happy" with a 1-7 SEC record. Battle did get more than 2 years (6 years I think) and Dickey did not leave the cupboards bear by any stretch ... Bobby Majors, Tim Priest, Jackie Walker, etc.

Another attempt to absolve Dooley for this season. So now, all a coach does is recruit. Everything else is not his fault. If a team is 117th in the nation running the football, then the head coach isn't at fault for that. If a kicker and punter decline in performance over the course of a season, then this staff isn't to blame for that.

What in the world happened to accountability?

Many of us believe coaches are responsible for the product on the field. It isn't just about recruiting. It is about development. It is about teaching.

We had an offensive line return entirely intact, an offensive line that produced a 1000 yard rusher last year. Where was the development this season? Why did we regress in an area where we had experience?

That isn't on the fans. That is on Dooley and his staff.

I agree on one point: he gets another year. But many of us aren't going to grant him the blanket immunity from criticism you are so willing to give him.

I figured it was for College Football fans and not stark raving lunatics

I know you have read the same crazy ass threads that pop up in here.

LOL, I thought that a FORUM was where we come to speak our opinions, feelings, wishes, and whatever we want to talk about, related to the topic: Volunteer Football. If we can't vent to fellow Vol fans than who can we vent to?

People come here to speak their mind and discuss what if's. There is no harm in that.

If that makes you sick, well, there is always the little "X" at the top right hand side of the screen.

Thanks!

Moron. When did I say this was on the fans? I am just tired of all the crying from the immature fans here. Talk to someone who cares about your sob story on why Dooley sucks.

Judging the absolute inability of Dooley's supporters to judge the man critically, I don't believe I'm exaggerating the point at all.

Neyland canned Harvey Robinson after two seasons in a rebuilding situation where key players from the 1950-52 period had moved on. He was right to make that move. While I know Dooley will get one more year, Hart will be entirely justified to fire the man if the leadership and results do not improve dramatically.

Dooley loses? Blame the fans.

Confronted with the idiocy of such an opinion? Blame the players.

Informed that a coach's job involves more than recruiting? Refer to the poster as a moron.

At some point, you will understand that a coach's performance is judged particularly on the performance of his players on the field.

But until that time comes, you will be reduced to blaming anyone else but the people directly responsible for the failure.
