I want to say that I, and many others, appreciate what JG has done for our team.

This kid has been one of the toughest QBs that I've seen.

We're behind you, JG.

-----------------------------------------

When they knock you down, you're going to get back on your feet.

You can't stop now.

You never shine if you never burn.

Let's all hope he (or someone) plays revived and we can do even half of what we did last year down the stretch.

Win 3 and we are right ABOVE preseason Vegas and FPI expectations.

He's a good kid. Aside from his performance on the field he's been nothing but an excellent example of what a student athlete and representative of the University of Tennessee should be. I just hate that he's been put in a position that he's not capable of succeeding at.
Well put

Where JG takes too much grief is that he is giving his all.

He doesn't put himself in the lineup.

It's not his fault that either he is the best option or that his coach keeps putting him in the game.
No you're absolutely right. It's not his fault. However he doesn't do himself any favors when he does his best "Katniss Everdeen" when we score a TD, already down by 35. You need to have better self-awareness in situations like that.

Hard to say. He's at the very end of a sporting career that's probably encompassed the last 2/3 of his life. Not many people ever get to throw a touchdown in a college football game. I don't think for one second that he's the kind of kid that only cares about his own performance over that of the team, I think he's just trying to enjoy every minute he's got left.

Oh I do! Look at how the rest of the team responds to him. When he makes a mistake and comes over to the sideline, none of his team mates come over to him and try to encourage him. He's off by himself pouting. When he get's knocked on his ass on the field, I don't see other players rushing over to help him up and see if he's ok. That's not the earmark of a team leader. That's not the sign of a team player.

When did he do that down 35?

And even if he did/n't then there'd be cries "hE sHowS nO EmoTion!" šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£

Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

This has been a song that I've equated with the Vols for several years. It just really hit me tonight thinking about how JG has taken so many hits and got back up to play another down.

JG needs support from us. He's been a helluva tough player for this team.

I've seen that change over the past few years. I certainly think the trust/faith in him has changed amongst the team. I don't think he's ever been a selfish player, but the team has given up on him for sure. After 3 years I'd go and pout too. Just a bad situation overall.

JG had my support for 4 years and 3 games. He lost my support by his actions not mine. The kid should not playing for this team.

Oh good Lord. JG has absolutely no awareness of what a bunch of jack-legs on a forum are saying. He doesn't "need" our support. At this point it makes no difference whatsoever in terms of how he performs on the field. He's a 5th year senior and he's developed as much as he's going to develop. It's up to him to go out on the field and perform regardless of what we say.

I really didn't expect this to be another JG hate post (stupid me, right?). I just wanted to throw this song out there and hope some people would listen to it and connect with it in the same way I did.

Apparently I'm an idiot thinking that anyone else could;

#1 Listen to the song
#2 Give JG any credit for anything at all
#3 Post a slightly positive response to any thread mentioning Jarrett
#4 Just be happy for a couple of minutes

I hope that you guys have people that encourage and support you in all of the tough times in your life.

From day 1 he wasn't really in the right offense. Joshua Dobbs was the blueprint for a QB to be able to win under Butch Jones

When someone comes in the ranked #1 or #2 dual threat QB I think they usually have some wheels. He has took a beating through the worst times, he's tough. That's about it.

I don't think JG is hitting refresh on his phone looking for validation on a board that has shown absolutely no respect for him in over a month just before the Arkansas game.

It might just be nice to have a thread that doesn't poop all over our starting QB every now and then.

It's a nice gesture VD, but I'm over the JG experiment. Frankly, after 5 years I'm sick of looking at him. I don't ever want to see #2 behind center again. In fact, I want to ban the use of the #2 for QB's ever again at Tennessee.
