We looked bad yesterday, no doubt about it. We need to see major improvements from our d line, o line, and secondary.

Current Commits:
4 O linemen
4 secondary players (2 Safety 2 Corner)
6 D linemen.

We’re currently thin on skill position players committed, but frankly we have a roster of guys at skill positions that could get us competitive with the SEC elite (competitive not dominant).

Pruitt knew prior to yesterday where our deficiencies are and he’s addressing them head on in recruiting. We have a couple guys currently in every position above that are elite caliber players (Trey Smith, Darrell Taylor, Alontar Taylor, Trey Flowers, and as bad as it was yesterday, Nigel Warrior has the potential).

I think from a recruiting standpoint Pruitt is showing where he was concerned and we as fans saw why.

I’m not saying he’s the guy, but I’m not willing to say he isn’t based on 1 game. I will say that I believe playcalls on both sides of the ball were vastly improved over last year, what we saw was a lack of execution which is just as much the coaches fault as it is the players.

TL;DR Play calling is improved, Pruitt is recruiting heavily at the positions that sucked yesterday, execution was an issue that reflects on the coaches and the players, not judging anyone by 1 game.

I hope 1 of the 4 olinmen is not the center. Guy has feet of stone. His inability to even touch his man as he went by set the tone for the game.

I’m betting Pruitt isn’t out promising these kids an 8 win season. He’s pitching playing time and games like last night will highlight that.
I bet he's not running around saying "Dude, we are going to be lucky to win 3 games this year. Come along for the ride. Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me." The level of recruits on hand currently are typically not going to sign on with a program that shows no signs of life. I don't think they are looking for an immediate winner, but they wants signs of life, and yesterday was a bad first step.

Interior OL got manhandled...

Defensive line got manhandled mostly. Tuttle made a few plays. Zero pass rush without bringing numbers...

Outside these two I think we have stay in this ballgame...

Also, young DB’s(veterans too) are thinking instead of flying around...

Tough matchup out the gate for us...but, I’m not overly discouraged...

Line play on both sides HAS to get better though or it will be a long season..

In many years of watching football , I can't remember the center getting manhandled like Kennendy was...... The nose guard on several occasions was untouched and creamed JG

Pretty unbelievable for what was supposed to be a very good Olineman from you know where......... Tennessee luck I guess

pretty good points, but I would say that O line improved as the game went on. Jordan getting 120 yds is some proof of that. Hard to say if our DBs are good or bad as we had zero pass rush. Was Grier even knocked down?

Completely agree with everyone pointing out that our lines did not play well yesterday, especially the o-line. But on the topic of cause for optimism, I was also heartened that our receivers actually caught the ball last night. I know, they were short passes and not in stride, but still - we've watched receivers let balls bounce off their numbers in previous seasons, and it's always a relief when we're not cursed with that.
