Yes. Storm the field if we defeat UGA (Go Vols)

Eventually, we should act like we expect to win games. We gonna storm the field against a decent Vandy, too?

One time my Dad & I, and a few hundred other Tennessee fans, stormed the field after the Notre Dame game when the Irish already had a 10-point loss on their record. And this happened in THEIR stadium, not ours! 🥳 "Catholics vs. Clampetts" indeed, muthaphuckas. 🤣

It sends the wrong message to the UGA fanbase and the nation. Expect to win and enjoy it when you do.

Rushing the field is a selfish act that literally makes it dangerous for the players, coaches and even the fans doing it. It costs the University money and for what? A celebration you can have anyway by watching the angry, dejected and confused UGA fans list out of Neyland in shock?

So you didn’t rush the field when Bama lost to us on a knuckle ball field goal in 2022.?
Also some guy 5 TDs by himself that game.

Who cares what their fan base thinks?

It’s about us celebrating our first victory in almost 10 years against them.

2022 was totally understandable but it doesn't change the downside and risk. I would also offer we aren't a team that expects to lose anymore. Apples to Oranges to me, but, that is my opinion and it's all good if you see it differently.

Fair enough about their fanbase though.... Now that I think about it Eff 'em.

Bunch of young rowdy college students isn’t going to give a damn what the other casual fans think.

If we win, they’ll rush the field without a second thought.

IMO the only reason TN should rush the field after beating GA is if it turns out to be an extremely dramatic and unexpected ending. You know, in some way snatching victory from the jaws of defeat. That’s not to say it wouldn’t be a huge win and statement, it’s just that I think unless it’s a very emotional and dramatic win, you should kinda act like it’s business as usual, not like you’re extremely surprised you won. Just an honest opinion from a GA fan.

I know this an inherent insult to say, but I live in the here and now.
Heupel is 0-4 against UGA as UTs coach.
Georgia has won 9 straight?? They’ve been the dominant program in all of college football imo the last 10 years.

They have a QB that can run and throw.
They have 2 of the most explosive players that ever suited up for Bishop Gorman and Mater Dei starting. Zach Branch and the RB.
Their line averages 6’6 330 and 3rd year.

Defense…
NB (5 star)
FS (5 star)
NT (5 Star)
ILB (5 star)
and bunch of other talented guys in their two deep. CJ Allen. Chris Cole. A bunch of dudes.

If we beat them then we should absolutely storm the field
Where is the dislike button when it is so desperately needed?

I know it’s petty, but I hope we do storm the field because for the last 10 years the same 4 UGA fans have sat in front of us on row 1, and one woman has been very obnoxious, and I want to hear her scratch as people pile past her.

Do you people have no self respect?

I'll allow Alabama in 2022 cause it was a rivalry game we lost for 15 consecutive years. But Georgia? Get the hell outta here. They're not even that good this year nor are they on a legendary Saban type run. Please have some self dignity and realize this is supposed to be a proud program.

We're not supposed to rush the field when we beat an opponent. That should be the expectation.
Hmmm.
WDYM "you people"??

Maybe chill out with the 1950's talk sir.

I just saw a headline where Mississippi State got fined $500,000 for storming the field the other night. That changes things for me. Now I'm not storming the field unless it's already stormed by other Vols fans and the fine is coming down the pike at that point whether I join in or not. I definitely won't be the first fan on the field and cost us the money we need to pay players & coaches, and upgrade facilities.

Not only that, but we would end up giving it to Georgia? No way that is worth it.

I just think it's below us at this point to storm the field after a win, as we want to be seen as an elite program and elite programs don't storm the field after wins. In 2022 the Bama game was kind of an inflection point and one of those moments, like Florida '98 and Bama '82 (I was there) where the moment was so big and the emotion so great that it was justified.

To me, just the fact that we're discussing whether or not to storm the field is a clear indication that we've reached another level as a program, one where a win over UGa at this point wouldn't be shocking, even though it's been a long time.

Having said all that, there is zero doubt that if we do prevail on Saturday, the goal posts will once again end up in the Tennessee River and we'll be forking over a cool half mil to Georgia.
