Yes. Storm the field if we defeat UGA (Go Vols)

Do you people have no self respect?

I'll allow Alabama in 2022 cause it was a rivalry game we lost for 15 consecutive years. But Georgia? Get the hell outta here. They're not even that good this year nor are they on a legendary Saban type run. Please have some self dignity and realize this is supposed to be a proud program.

We're not supposed to rush the field when we beat an opponent. That should be the expectation.
It's officialy been settled. The field will get stormed.

Why not 26? Why not 27? It's very much cherry picking. Claiming that Tennessee was the same program under Dooley, Butch, and Pruitt is the same as it was under Fulmer is being intellectually dishonest.
Go all the way back. The Fulmer years were the best run in UT history outside the General. In all reality even UT's record under Majors was not legendary and half the time merely mediocre.

Unfathomable. 9 pages already. This board can work up a good bitch slapping argument over the most miniscule 💩😉🤙🏼🧡
True. But my reply to D4H is a secret code. Any prediction or thought he has on anything will go the opposite. There's a small group in here that get that without further commentary.

Tennessee shouldn't storm the field vs UGA but the students probably will because they weren't around when we dominated Bama and UGA back in the day, so it's a bigger deal to them.

We still in our top ten program of all time history have only had like what 5-6 times that the field has been rushed at Neyland?

Chattanooga 1958 (their fans)
LSU 1959 (not a true rush, but fans greeted the team on the field to celebrate)
Alabama 1982
Auburn 1985
Florida 1998
Alabama 2022
Alabama 2024

No storming the field we have to act like we’ve been in this position before just like the second time we beat bama.

I guarantee it will happen if the Vols win
Not if the school has any damn sense and puts about 6,000 boys in blue in front of that student section as the clock winds down. For 500 grand, I’d have the Tennessee national guard making damn sure.

Of course, if I were 19 years old, my views would be radically different….

For starters, the only people it directly impacts is the players currently playing and will play. As I've posted before, 17 of the 23 Tennessee wins happened before Y2K. Think any current recruits really care about that far back? Want to go back to when the series was played every year (1992)? Tennessee is 14-19 since then. But want to argue about being the same program? Georgia is not anywhere close to the same program it was in that 9 game Tennessee streak.
It's called a conversation and I was responding to someone else. Now that you have chimed in I am responding to you. You're creating a strawman. I was never arguing anything about whether kids care today, who was alive, or any of that other nonsense. And you just made up the part about me suggesting either program is the same. So I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to achieve with this exchange other than just to argue.

Rushing the field shouldn’t be the who, but the why? If rushing for bama was warranted, then rushing for UGA is definitely warranted. They are a great team right now and haven’t showed signs of slowing down. How long has it been since we beat them? I don’t think we can beat GA, but if we did that would mean we can beat anyone on our schedule. I’m not sure what’s more exciting than that.

“Proud Program”. I think we are. But we weren’t for 15-20 years. Beating Ga would be our biggest win in some time. I love beating bama any day, but they haven’t been the power bans they used to be in our past few wins. Feelings and rivalry aside, beating GA this year is no doubt a bigger win than that bama win.

We made the playoffs last year. We've arrived. There should be no more rushing the field now. We should go into every game expecting to win. The teams that rush the field are those who don't expect to win.

In 2022 we were not proven yet. We hadn't been in the national spotlight for over 20 years. It was fine that one time. It ain't fine anymore. You make yourself look like an inferior program if you rush the field after making the playoffs and being a perennial top 10 team for the last 3 years.

Don't lie about who you responded to.

And the parts about the kids today and the stage of the programs are completely relevant and that 25 years is not cherry picking. If you have to go back over a quarter century to try to act like that program is superior, then it's not.
