Yes. Storm the field if we defeat UGA (Go Vols)

Beating UGA is absolutely bring the goal posts down kind of victory. Especially if it's GameDay and the game is the most watched of the weekend. The recruiting advantage alone would be special. Coach Heupel is on a run recruiting, beating UGA would only help in getting UT to a top 5 class again. That Alabama win in 2022 was talked about by non sports fans, let it happen again for UGA.
Out of the top 10 recruiting classes last season, how many of those teams stormed the field in 2024? It’s a cool theory, but there’s no proof to it that it’s going to help get us to where we want to be.

Did Ohio State rush the field after beating #1 Texas last week?
Ohio State was probably hungover from their last win, the National Championship game.

Waiting for the day (for me its already here) where we do not feel the need to storm the field after beating ANYONE. Or chanting "overrated" (which may be the stupidest fan chant of all time) when we beat a good basketball team. It LITERALLY is denigrating to your own program  . But, of course, the frontal lobe (so I'm told) isn't no where close to fully developed yet for college kids. Maybe that explains it 🤷‍♂️

It's 6, but ok. 17 of the 23 Tennessee wins were before Y2K. I hate UGA, but I'm not naive enough to act like Tennessee has been on the same level as them for 25 years.
That’s fair. I can’t argue w/ stats, but I can argue w/ perception . I just don’t want to storm the field for anyone anymore . There are some situational exceptions that I think are worthy, but overall I want us to act like we should expect to beat teams now. IMO we had no business storming the field after we beat Bama last season. 2022 was us kicking down the door, but Last season should’ve been us acting like we’ve been there and plan on staying there.

So you want to cost the university a bunch more money?!?...This would be the third time and it would cost a ton of money and every penny of it goes to UGA...Yeah lets help them get more great players instead of keeping that money and acting like we have been there before and get our own blue chippers...Make sense?
What you’re saying isn’t real so idk know what to tell you.

How would beating them HELP them get more players??😏

TH you talking about lol?

I'm not sure.

The last few years UGA has usually opened up strong and then struggle for the first month of the season. We are catching them at the right time this year.

I agree. This is the best possible time to play them too. We’re not going to show anything vs ETSU.

I am glad the wifi in Neyland has been upgraded. Now, the crowd of 100k+ can collectively consult this thread on whether they should storm the field. 😏

The game clock slowly ticks towards zero. The hard fought win of UT against UGA is inevitable. A palpable exuberance permeates the stadium. Electricity surges though orange veins. Thankfully, cool heads consult VN. Frantically they search for instruction on what they should do. They hold back the celebratory crowd from setting foot on Shields-Watkins. Crises averted.
🤣🧡

I personally won't, but if it gets stormed, I'm fine with it.
I’ll admit it doesn’t feel right.
When I started following TN we whipped up on them pretty good.

I just think they’re a different program now.
If Tennessee is ever to compete for National Championships, then we have to go through Georgia imo.

No. They're not on the same level as the evil empire Alabama. Don't give them that sort of satisfaction. We've had a down decade+ before Heup came onboard and they took full advantage of that. It's not like we were neck and neck battling them for championships or something. You don't storm the field for every good team you beat. It makes the impact of it less special. With regards to Alabama I think it's funny every team that beats them the field gets stormed. It really grates on their fans and the fact that now they truly appear to be sliding into irrelevancy again adds even more salt to the wound.

I expect to compete with Georgia and potentially beat them. Sure, Heupel hasn't beaten them before, but the gap between blue chip talent is closing. We are now approaching territory as a legitimate national contender and are a CFP team. No need to storm the field if we beat a Georgia team that lost 3 games last season.
