The golf analogy is probably a good one. He is who he is at this point, regardless of who everyone wants him to be.Watching JG for as long as we all have, I'm beginning to think its comparable to my golf game. I could play every day for the rest of my life, and every now and then, hit some good shots, but on the whole, there is a ceiling I'd hit and it's a mental and physical ceiling. Hoping the off season, second year under Chaney, and the healing of his hand would put him in one of the elite qbs - all coming together. Gotta say, there were some things I saw from him that weren't bad at all. Didn't slide on his run and picked up some yards with some nifty moves. Found Gray on an flea flicker outlet that worked out nice. But those third down passes where the guy is open and he puts it in the bleachers.. THAT is my golf game in a nutshell.
More like 5th year jitters, just jitters, JG needs to just practice and let others play when it countsTo be fair, 2 big throws were dropped. Though it is obvious that JG still has a problem overthrowing receivers. Hopefully it's just 1st game jitters. Otherwise, I was happy with the performance. Especially late game.
Lol you’re drunk. JG is a bad passer though. At least he did go through his progressions for the first time maybe ever and avoid catastrophic mistakes. Not a terrible first game his passing ability is what it isJG is not the guy. SC is terrible, SC defense is terrible. We had enough talent to score 60 tonight. The outcome was uncertain until the muffed punt we recovered. JG’s poor play almost got us beat tonight in a game we should of won by 28 points minimum. The SC program is in freefall. Muschamp will likely be gone in 2021
JG showed tonight that he is the guy to lead this offense. When we had a lead built up, and our defense let us down, allowing SCar back into the game with a serious threat to comeback.... JG and the offense stayed calm, and were able to do enough to win the game.
Happy for our offense, hopefully the defense can get it together for next week. As for tonight, I'm thankful we had a QB that didn't make a mistake when the momentum was completely against us. We haven't done such in the past few years.
And the freshman DB tripped on the TD and Johnson pulled in a 1 handed diving miracle....drops happen like trips happens...problem is of his 19 completions very few were on target.... a completion doesnt mean its a good throwTo be fair, 2 big throws were dropped. Though it is obvious that JG still has a problem overthrowing receivers. Hopefully it's just 1st game jitters. Otherwise, I was happy with the performance. Especially late game.
We can't open the run game up if we are not a threat to pass. We will never have a consistent running game unless we have a consistent passing game.
It’s truly sad that there are some people that watched him play today and thought he did good. Sure, he made a couple of nice passes. But he missed so many wide open receivers it’s not even funny. I was hoping we tried someone else by the 3rd drive. Sure, our defense didn’t look great tonight. But we could have scored MUCH more than we did with a good QB.Always nice to read these sort of posts after we get gifted a win, and after watching the performances of QBs like Kyle Trask and KJ Costello earlier in the day.
