Alabama has struggled the past couple of weeks with Ole Miss and Kentucky almost losing both games. Don't get me wrong, Ole Miss is a very good ball team, they just catch a couple of bad breaks in their losses and Kentucky is kind of so so but both teams gave Bama a run for their money. Bama really impressed me with their blowout against UGA which all of this time was really overrated but Tennessee having such a rough year, do they put Alabama on upset alert Saturday night. I mean the stage is set, Fulmer is on the hot seat once again, its saturday night in Knoxville with a sold out stadium on Espn. Does Fulmer and the Vols bounce back and send shockwaves or does Bama lets say hang about 50 on the Vols? Your opinions and answers and feelings are needed, pour it out for me.

My take is that bama is a solid, WELL COACHED team, but not exactly loaded with talent. UT is an underachieving mess, with an offense that runs like a Ford Escort or somesuch. I can see the Vols eeking out a win if the defense is stout and UT gets off to a good start--means makes some first downs and scores some friggin' points early. Unless the offense shows more than it has all season, and unless the Vols make fewer mistakes than the have all season, this one will be tough to win. bama isn't mississippi state.

Not sure. Bama hasn't really played anyone yet and I'm hoping that our "D" can step up and hold Bama to under 24 points. However the UT offense needs to put over 24 on the board. Bama may win the SEC West but the Gators will win the SEC Championship.
GO VOLS!

the sorry simple fact is that Saban will outcoach Fulmer and the Vols will lose. Whether it will be a heartbreaker or a blowout remains to be seen.

I believe we are all delusional and sound as bad as the Bammers used to. It's about time we just face that we are horrible and couldn't pull a solid upset to save our lives. We have become the biggest joke in the SEC and I'm really getting sick of it. At least some of you Fulmerites are finally starting to open up your eyes...

Bama - 35
TN - 14

The bama fans here aren't confident. There's enough history for them to know you can't decide this one before the game. I'll hear it next week I'm sure if we don't win, but they have been pretty quiet this week. (If, God forbid, they do win....they're gonna be kickin' theirselves for not doin' more trash talk this week, lol.)

And how many freshmen are they playing? Have they played anywhere that has the power of Neyland Stadium?

Its really difficult to say. Yeah fulmer is on the hot seat but it has seemed to have gotten a little less hot since the win vs msu. Well it has according to coacheshotseat.com so take that for what its worse. Bama has gotten better and we havent. Our O line has actually gotten worse. To make things more bizarre bama has played better on the road. They have sort of fallen asleep in the 2nd half. I dont expect that to happen in this game though. Saban will have them ready to play. The one stat that stands out is how bama has really manhandled teams in the first half. (95-3) Compare that to how we have been blown out in the half.(44-14). If we can somehow avoid this fast start by bama we will have a shot. I wish I could say the our offense gives me some hope but they dont really. I think fulmer and co can easily get frustrated and give up on the run early. If this happens look for bama to win by at least 2 TD's.

Nope! Coaching alone would get the vols beat in this one, not to mention the lack of overall talent on the field. Couple that with a hurting Gerald Jones and a line that couldn't block me and Bama wins.

Bama has scored 20, 17, and 24 points against Tulane, Kentucky, and Ole Miss. The Vols defense has not allowed more than 30 points.

You have a good point there...but I expect us to lose by at least more than 2 TD's. And I think we are good for at least one TD on O and one on D. Therefore I picked 35.

But 28-13 sounds just as reasonable to me.

Excellent analysis. 100% correct.

This is true the scored 41 on Georgia though. It seem like maybe they have played down to the competition. This is something I have seen Tennessee do in the past. I dont really think it will be a blowout like it was last year but unless we have some really great plays it will likely be a loss none the less.

I think we can win. I also think Bama could easily win. The most important thing to me is this: Even if Bama wins, at least we're still Tennessee. Lots of research went into that quality post.

I don't think Bama scores over 20 unless they pick up some defense or special teams points. They've scored quite a few that way so far this year and pushed their scoring average up over 30.

Isn't the Bama defensive line injured a bit for this game? The UT offense can score 13 points by themselves...if the UT defense pitches in, I think the score will be very close.

I am not sure but I think its only Terrance Cody who is injured for bama. Supposedly his replacement has played quite a bit this year and is very good.

If they can keep the mistakes/penalties to 1 like they did last week they may have a chance, but you're correct in saying that the offense will have to score more points than they have all year in order to have any chance in this game.
