But for the first time in my life I won't accept a loss. We didn't loose this game. The officials robbed our team flat out. To hell with what the record books say. We won this game. We had a 8-5 season and no one will convince me otherwise. I know how crazy I sound but I don't care. If they are that shi**y at their job then why should I respect their judgement and decision. . Those kids fought their a**es off only to have a couple stupid or corrupt pinheads say "no reality is what I pull out my a**.

Yup I'm an idiot for my Vols but I don't care. My passion for the Power T made what happened on that field personal for me. I'll never accept that score because those refs blatantly took that last touchdown away.

Okay stupid rant over and flame away lol. I do not care, For the first tie in my life I don't care what the scoreboard says. Tennessee won last night. End of story.

If "whistles don't count"...As we were told when the "W" was stolen from Tennessee....then why are we penalized for hits AFTER THE WHISTLE..???
Seems like some ref's are using "double-secret rules" to decide when a play is over....AFTER they see what happened.
Whistles don't count..??? Then take'em away and let the players just fight it out. Yea....that makes a LOT of sense.

I agree and don’t even think our D should have stepped on the field during OT.

I watched the A to Z sports podcast last night on Youtube and they brought up a good point. The play was ruled dead because his forward progress had been stopped according to the official. That is not reviewable and it does not matter when the whistle blows if the ref says forward progress was stopped. So there could be no video review because forward progress is NOT reviewable. The way it played out was Correct, the problem is the CALL by the referee was INCORRECT, his forward progress was only stopped for .07 seconds before his final lung sticking his arm out and scoring. If this play happens in the middle of the field they let it go until the player is on the ground. The referee should never have stopped the play on the goal line in that situation.

I know we were whipped but so were they. I really think the substitution cost us a TD more than the officials, and that’s on the coaches. As soon as I saw Purdue sub their entire DL, I knew we weren’t gonna see the endzone. We should’ve kicked the field goal. That said, I don’t see any reason for OT in non-playoff bowl games. Both teams scrapped. Both had mistakes and both made plays. Nothing wrong with letting a game like that end in a tie.

STOP. The whole basis of your position is that progress is NOT reviewable and that is just not true. There is a thread in this board showing that NOT to be TRUE. It is reviewable for first downs and goal line situations. This is not conjecture, it is the NCAA Replay rules. It is not reviewable for whether you gained 8 or 9 yards on first and 25. Search for this with titles only in this forum and read it yourself.....
Forward progress is reviewable…

They can review it to verify where the ball should be spotted if a player is down by contact or where the ball is when a whistle stops the play for any reason. His whistle was actually pretty well timed, nobody I have seen ANYWHERE thinks he was legally down, and the whistle blew right after the ball crossed the goal line. That is what a valid replay would have found and had to rule using the rulebook. The spot they used was no more valid than if he ruled we went down at the 2 yardline where contact was originated.

IF the referee and the replay referee consulted and they ACTUALLY informed our coach it was not reviewable by rule they both need to be suspended. I hope our AD forces a final and complete PUBLIC reckoning with the TRUTH. Maybe to the point of filing an official protest to make the point even knowing the score won't change.

I never blame the refs for losses as the bad calls usually even out over the game....however....the calls in this game and the Ole Miss game were beyond ridiculous.

Sure, Coach had some bad decisions and Willie still doesn't know what DBs are supposed to do....but all that aside, if the game is called properly we win. It's that simple.

Was it incompetence? Cheating? I don't know, but something is up.

It’s been pointed out on this forum that forward progress IS reviewable.

I have a good friend who is a CUSA official. He says forward progress is NOT reviewable.

One of his crew members was on chain crew at MCB and he said “it was bad” and these guys normally defend the refs to the end but not this time.

You going to take his word for that or the text from the NCAA rulebook that has been shared several times on this site? You cannot unblow the whistle YES, but where the ball is near the goal line when the whistle is blown is reviewable.

if he waited a little big longer and followed his 2 big blockers he would have scored

I applaud the Vols fans in attendance that did not throw trash on the field. I’m still mad about this game and piss poor officiating crew.

In one way it is almost better that we got screwed out of the win.
Our returning players can now have that chip on their shoulder during the off season.
Plus being looked at in a sympathetic light nationally is kind of a refreshing change especially after the tremendous stank that Pruitt left on our program.

I’m with you but I’m going 9-4. We were robbed in the Ole Miss game also.

I'm not upset about the officiating. The thing that upsets me is The last drive of regulation. You had the game won, but decided to get cute. The game should've never went to OT

Tom Ridder, long time SEC head official, said this morning on Doug Matthews show, that he “didn’t understand why they went to review because they can’t review that.” He said you can review forward progress if the play resulted in a change of possession such as a turnover, not in that case.

Now, that’s 2 college officials that said it wasn’t reviewable but what do they know, right?
