Bad for NBA growth engine in China. It has taken hold, but he was the catalyst.

What does he have to show for his nine seasons in the league? I never followed him closely, but it seems like he never really took off. I'm not saying he didn't do anything, but I'm unaware of any memorable or noteworthy achievements.

No team achievements, but had great career stats: 20, 10, and 2 while shooting a TS% of about .600! He had the T-Mac curse.

He wasn't a superstar, but he wasn't a bust. The Rockets got their money's worth out of him.

As much as I think Yao was one of the most boring players ever....the best 3 teammates he had in his career were Scola, Landry, and Battier (T-Mac is SO overrated). They weren't exactly putting together championship teams and that held him back in the public eye.

Possibly carried forward by actual NBA players playing in China during the labor issue. Not holding my breath, though.
