Xbox One

Found out that my Xbox purchase came with a free digital copy of Forza. Play it some last night. Graphics are gorgeous. Definitely the best looking game on the One right now.

I love Forza. Graphics and gameplay are awesome.

The graphics did initially blow me away and it's definitely an awesome game, especially for a launch title. However I have to be honest, the more time I spend with the game the more corners I can see that were cut in order for Turn 10 to get it to run at 1080p/60fps.

1.) For one, there doesn't seem to be any type of anti-aliasing (jagged edge removal) implemented in the game.

2.) Also, some of the track side detail is 2D rendered such as the trees, which look like cardboard cut outs instead of fully rendered models.

3.) Other missing features are dynamic weather, night racing, day to night transitional races, etc. (every race seems to take place on a crystal clear day at 5:30 in the afternoon).

Now I realize I'm just picking nits here but as good as the game does look, I see a LOT of room for improvement! Hopefully by the time Forza 6 rolls around the developers will have a better handle on the hardware and can include some of those missing features without sacrificing framerate.

I must have played a different version of the game

I didnt notice the negatives that you posted other than the last one. Maybe I just need better contacts

One thing that will open your eyes is to go watch the video/photo comparisons of when Forza 5 was first unveiled at E3 2013 and what it ultimately looked like when it shipped. Turn 10 ended up cutting quite a few corners. However like I said, I'm just being nit picky and it doesn't detract from my enjoyment of the game at all. It's still looks good and is a blast to play. I'm just saying I can see a LOT of potential for visual improvement for the next version if given enough time to fully utilize the hardware.

Huge update. Glad to see they finally added external storage support...and with no size limit. I saw he had at least 3TB free. That's big. And glad to see auto-sign in back.

I am really excited about this update. Especially the external hard drive. I think Xbox One is finally headed in the right direction which makes this great for us consumers.

Agreed. I'm glad I have both systems because I feel they actually complement each other very well. I really enjoy my X1 for Forza 5 and all the multi-media stuff and TV integration.
