Xbox Live Issues

:angry:i cant sign into xbox live.... everytime i do the test the IP address part keeps failing....it says your console was unable to negotiate a lease with your DHCP server.Make sure the adresses are available on your server.....:angry:

1. i do not know what the "DHCP SEREVER"is and where it is located
2.i am connected through router by a ethernet cable
3.i really need help...


oh yeah i just checked my "cmd" then "ipconfig/all"
it says my dhcp is enabled but my IP routing enables says no on it
anyon know how to turn it on??

That happened to me about 3 weeks ago I think. I just unplugged the internet wire from the 360 hooked it to my comp then plugged it back in and it worked. If your 360 isn't close to your comp then I don't know. I would try that though.

i cant do that...
i tried but then my LAN is unplugged cuz my LAN is pluged to my router to my computer

Halo 3 is causing alot of the problems for most people. One of my good friends and pwning partners on GoW rented Halo 3 only to return it to the store 30 minutes later. Halo 3 will go down as one of the most over-hyped/over-rated games of all time. Halo 3 has nothing on GoW and Unreal 3 when Unreal 3 comes out.

How can you say Unreal is better when it hasn't even been released yet? As for GOW vs. H3 that to each person to make that decision. Personally I like H3 better and it hasn't caused a problem yet.

Go watch the Hi-def vids of Unreal and tell me it won't be better than Halo 3. GoW is only using about 20% of the Unreal 3 Engine and it doesn't even have anti-aliasing. Unreal 3 will OWN Halo 3.

i just bought an xbox las week and know nothing about xbox live..do i have to have a gold account or whatever to play on live? Or can i just plug it in and play?

You have to purchase a Gold account to play online.

So I had this issue with 360 Live where I would lose connection halfway through NCAA and COD4, I thought it was because I had bought the "cheap" wireless router so I called XBOX (1800-4my-xbox) and explained it to the guy and he said I needed to open my gaming ports on my router with this random # and to call the router company and they would help me from there. I called them and they walked me through everything, I actually had to go online to change the setting for the router in my home. It was awesome and to think I got mad at all those football games cause I thought they had quit and the whole thing really screwed my record up I am 0-10. Anyways didn't know if anyone else need this but I am good to go.

My router opened the ports automatically. In other words, it already had the ports programed to be open for XBL.
