OK guys, I don't post much over here nor do I read alot but from what I've read all you guys seem to know what you're talking about and I wanted to ask you all's opinion on something....I'm wanting and Xbox 360, should I get one now(with the chances off 3 the red lights of doom coming on) or should I wait for PS3 to come down sometime soon?? Opinions are greatly appreciated:rock:

Go with a 360. There are more games, IMO better games, and comes with a 3 year guarantee warranty. If you are a fan of the NCAA series, I would also go with a 360, because on the 360 NCAA 2008 is going to be 60 FPS versus the PS3 being only 30 FPS. If you are into online play then the 360 is lightyears ahead of the PS3 as well.

360, guaranteed system for 3 years, better games, better customer service, proven format, more people playing it...

PS3 - A promise it'll be good sometime in the future.

If this is still a hard decision, you need to spend your $$ a shrink rather than video games.

The PS3 WILL have a good library in the future, it came out one year later than the XBox 360. You can't hold that against it. Sony has too many good exclusive titles to ignore.

Go look at the systems, weigh the options yourself and decide. Maybe the PS3 is right for you, maybe the XBox 360 is. Maybe the Wii is. Who knows.

^ Exactly. I've been eating some crow.

Last gen, I made fun of XBox, saying "It's not a gaming system, it's a computer tower you plug into your TV." Seems to be more what people are making of the PS3 now. Also has to do with Microsoft pretty much putting the kaibosh on any sort of system upgrade to the 360 without their approval.

I think the Wii will end up being the best once they get out a lot of games for it and developers start taking advantage of the motion of the wiimote, wii zapper and wii board.

Edit: the wii racing wheel is pretty sweet too.

Translation: I'm a huge Sony fanboy, but I have to admit, the 360 is the better system until Sony comes up with some even halfway decent games for the PS3.

I bought a 360 last night, and i am amazed. I bought Forza 2, and reserved NCAA 08 for tuesday.

I never played any xbox anything prior to this morning, but the controller is very well layed out and intuitive, nothing seems awkward.

The warantee was also a huge reason i decided to go the 360 route, they acknowledge that there are some kinks in the system, and are willing to bite the bullet in the process of fixing them.

If you'd like to play people online..get the 360..if you want to hear crickets..pick up the PS3 :devilsmoke:
If you want gaming experiences throughout the life of your console that are so deep it would make these pea-brained XBox fanboys' heads explode, get a PS3. If you want to play the same shooters you've been playing for the last six years, get an XBox 360.

I've sworn by Sony since the inception of the first PS back in the late 90's. But I just recently crossed over to the darkside- mainly due to the influence of these guys! :p

I'm a converted believer- the 360 is the superior choice right now.

Definitely the right choice to get a 360 now and wait and see on the ps3.

I think microsoft won over a lot of people with the bold move to give a 3 year warranty.

deep?

Of course, you can't play an of these "deep" game experiences now since they still don't exist.

If you want to actually play the best games on the market now... get an xbox.

If you want to buy a system and watch in collect dust while you hope some decent games come out some day, get a ps3.

If you like online play and want a mature well integrated online system, get an xbox.

If you like an online system that is today's equivalent of using a walkie talkie as a cell phone....get a ps3.

If you like a system where the best games currently out are an overrated, monotonous third-person shooter, a soon-in-coming rehash of an ill-concieved sequel and a soulless racing game, get an XBox 360. I don't care for online gaming. I prefer a system where the developers of exclusive titles actually have the talent and dedication to make more than a mediocre 8-hour experience and rely on online play for depth and replay value. The XBox has only had like 5 or so such titles, ever... Jade Empire, and the KOTOR and Elder Scrolls games. The Playstation has had infinitley more in the same time frame, Final Fantasy series, Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo, Okami, God Of War, Shadow of the Colossus... I could literally name two dozen more games like that.

But I guess Sony is just full of empty promises for the future. As if Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy (two of them) games aren't even coming. And before you belittle four games, realize that there's at least 500 hours of gameplay between them. Not to mention there are other games on the horizon.

It's why I don't care for the XBox 360... I don't like waiting around for maybe one great, deep standalone game a year while Sony releases a handful in the same timeframe.
