Any X Files fans here?

I know pretty late to the party, after all it's only been off the air for 8 years now. But now that Lost is over I've been watching the series on Netflix Instant. It was a series I wanted to get into at the time but I just never did.

I really like the show. I'm up to the middle of season 4 and I've got the first movie on the way to watch after season 5.

I have every season on DVD and just started rewatching them. I'm back about midway through season 2 again. Its a great show, looses some steam in the last couple of seasons but it is a very good show. The first of the two movies are really good as well. I enjoyed the second but probably only because it was the X-Files as it seems everyone else hates it.

One of my all time favorite shows. Great storylines.

I was obsessed with the show, but the last few seasons really sucked. I also didn't like how they tried to tie up 85 % of the show into one over-arching conspiracy that was never totally coherent.

Was a HUGE fan of the show. Surprised they don't still run reruns on SyFy or something.

I have 4 episodes left in the last season, plus I have the second movie on the way.

I must say I've enjoyed it; even seasons 8 and 9. Obviously they aren't as good as Seasons 1-7 but Robert Patrick's character grew on me. I wish Duchovney would have stayed on for all of 8 and 9, but I did like it when he teamed with Doggett a few episodes in Season 8.

I even watched The Lone Gunmen series. Too bad that got cancelled after only 13 episodes. And then I watch the Jump The Shark episode in the last season and they freakin die....what? Seriously....why kill them off. They were some of my favorite characters.

Anyway I'm almost done. I even bought the PS2 game for $5. Apparently it's considered part of the official canon and is supposed to take place during Season 7. The game was made from leftover episode scripts they didn't get to film. The cool part is they got all the actors to do their voices, which is why I got it.

I didn't know there were 2 movies. Dig some X files...

On a similar topic: I watched The Fourth Kind the other day... Any thoughts on it?

So I watched X-Files: I Want to Believe and uh...well.

As an X-File movie, it was good and all, but it was a "Monster of the Week" instead of Alien stoyline. If I had watched the series when it was on and then waited 6 years for another movie, I would have been very disappointed.

Supposedly they are planning a 3rd one that will be the final conclusion to the entire storyline and it will deal with the 2012 Alien Invasion revealed in the final episode. Hopefully it will happen.

This thread caused me to sign up for Netflix. Thanks for the info about X Files being on there.

My favorite episodes were the funny ones. Mulder was an entertaining character when the writers allowed him to be.

I was surprised at how funny he was.

I'm actually getting an itch to go back through and watch them all again.

X-files was a great show with a few bafflingly bad episodes thrown in. The series is worth watching all the way through, just know that there are a few lemons.

Save the movie(s) until the end. That way, if you never get around to watching them, you won't ever have to be disappointed.

Ehh... bad or not, the first movie is a pretty good lead in to the 6th season.

The Kathy Griffin episode was to me by far the worst episode of the series. I hated so much there's not even a close second.
