WWW contacting teams about Cal-Lebron Package deal

There's probably little chance that a sign-and-trade happens without it being some three or four team blockbuster deal. That's how things usually go in the NBA with big-time contracts and players like LBJ that you can't get equal value for.

I agree 100%. That is the only way it will happen.

ESPN News mentioned Calipari as a candidate for the Cleveland job. I don't know if there's any actual interest in him or if they are simply listing several "big name" coaches.

don't think cal is going anywhere. sooner or later he will win a ncaa championship, he just has to get the right chemistry.

Why in God's name would Cleveland want to do a sign and trade with Lebron? Why would they want to help a guy they have done so much for who is going to leave them and cost them millions in revenue. Still, don't see it happening.

Because something is better than nothing. You can't let emotion cloud a sensible business decision.

Again...who do the Mavs have that would bring anything worthwhile to Cleveland?

I'm not going to claim to know the details of possible trades but if option A is letting a player walk and option B is getting players in return, then you take option B all day long.

It would be a sign and trade so the Cavs would pick up expiring contracts. The players they get would basically be a band-aid until they could sign another big time free agent (never gonna happen) or rebuild through the draft (more realistic option).
