If that had been an actual shoot, that mic would have been cut off a whole lot sooner than it was.

Vince isn't going to let ROH or New Japan get free publicity on his show.

The "blaming the fans" deal was scripted, obviously.

Punk calling Laurinaitis out by name or saying his "idiotic daughter and doofus son in law" or mentioning ROH wasn't scripted imo.

Very true. It's obvious most of it was planned because the match ended with plenty of time for a promo. I just wonder how much of the promo was a shock to the writers, etc.

Anyone think Punk gets a face turn following the PPV? He'll be in Chicago

There is going to be an even bigger split in live crowds now.

The 12 and under age group is going to still cheer for Cena.

Everyone else will be cheering on Punk.

Punk is going to be the face in Chicago regardless of what they do.

That'll be so interesting. Nobody will believe the crap he has to say to make them dislike him. He'll be getting cheers like Dwayne

It appears that Punk wearing the Stone Cold shirt was an homage to Heyman wearing a Stone Cold hat in his shoot

That makes sense

Have you ever watched Steve's shoot on WCW when he first came into ECW?

It's a lot like what Punk did tonight

Austin ECW Shoot

One of the best shoots ever. Just got fired by EB and Heyman sat him down and told him to just start talking.
Would say tonight was a worked shoot, similar to Joey Styles a few years ago but 100 times better.

On [last] Monday’s RAW, CM Punk announced that he plans to leave WWE when his contract expires on July 17th, the day of Money in the Bank. Punk wrote the following on Twitter regarding his upcoming departure:

“I knew I was gone at the beginning of the year. I just woke up one day and I knew. That’s the way I work a lot of the time.”

“I think it’s creepy too, but it’s really helpful. I knew I’d be history by July. Come say goodbye on July 17th.”

“Come say goodbye on July 17th. I promise to go out with a bang. Trust me. XxX”

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross also commented on CM Punk’s big announcement:

“@cmpunk is most interesting man in wwe & he NEVER drinks beer. MITB PPV now has a viable ‘hook.’. Truth’s doing well too.”

his leaving could be legit

That was amazing he could be gone But I hope not he has a good chance of beating cena. Best end to Raw in a while. Now we wait to see what happens next.

Good article at grantland.com on Punk. I would link, but I'm on mobile. Article was written last week, but very foretelling.

The message was similar imo iyam jmo.

I'm calling it now...Cena will turn heel at the MITB PPV.

I just don't think it will happen. I think the WWE can't risk the amount of money they'd lose from the little kids. Kids don't fully understand that what they're seeing isn't reality, so to see their favorite guy (the good guy) become a bad guy...yikes

The PPV is in Chicago, Punk's hometown. Vince doesn't want him to leave with the title, so think about another Montreal Screwjob. Now, for Wrestlemania, The Rock will definitely be the face considering it's in his hometown of Miami.

I think Vince will pull another screwjob, this time on Punk, and Cena will be involved in the screwjob. (If you read the spoilers for next week, you will understand why) This will then set up Cena as a heel vs Rock as face for Wrestlemania.

I like your thinking. Punk in the role of Bret Hart, the disgruntled employee, Cena as HBK. That may be the only way to get Punk over as a face while Cena will need a whole new "corporate" persona to pull off the heel turn.

WCW made quite a bit of money by turning their top face heel.

1. I'm assuming the average age of Cenation is much younger than that of Hulkamania
2. The adults won't like Cena if he goes heel because they still know he isn't a good wrestler

1. You saying kids didn't like The Hulkster?
2. Isn't that a good thing if Cena is a heel?
