It's not that they don't have star power, it's that I don't think the roster lends itself to compelling matchups/feuds.

So, I'm going back through Smackdown skipping the matches and just watching the picks, and it's even more obvious to me how Smackdown was buried with the picks. I mean, they went out of their way several times to show Shane and Daniel acting pissed or disappointed that Raw picked someone they had planned to draft. Just more emphasis to the viewer that we are supposed to clearly understand that Smackdown is the red-headed stepchild.

To be fair, Mick was upset with some of the Smackdown picks too. I think they were both doing it.

Maybe it was in the eye of the beholder, I just felt like there was clear burying of Smackdown.

Good writing and booking can overcome apparently deficient rosters. So how many of us expect the writing/booking to magically improve? Possible, but not likely IMO.

Do they have the best lineup now?

my expectation is that a few of the names on the list will be "free agent signees" in the next few weeks

I think that's a fantastic lineup, full of great potential feuds. I like that roster better for story purposes than Smackdown's.
