In a way, I really hope they do a brand split after Mania. Truly write and book them as "separate" companies or whatever. Run Smackdown as a live show. Every 6-8 months they could have the old style draft or have a free agency period where some number of stars switch brands, but otherwise, keep them totally separate. They could even have separate PPVs and house shows, which would allow for some down time for the wrestlers, and maybe cut down on some of the injuries.

So if this means Bayley, Balor, Zayn, and Enzo and Cass are all done with NXT, it's going to take some serious work to keep the NXT crowds the way they are.

Joe, Asuka, Nakamura, Aries, etc will struggle to keep that crowd-wrestler connection imo

Asuka and Nakamura will do great. They have some talent on the men's side. The women's side is going to need some work

Exactly. That's the beauty of NXT. NXT was ruled by Big E, Graves, Rollins, Ambrose, Reigns, and Wyatt. They left and a new crew came in and did a great job.
